The CSB has some head scratchers as all translations do, but after spending much time with this translation, I believe now that this translation is the best overall translation in the english language. And despite what others say, I believe the CSB is a better translation than the HCSB which I did not think was better than the ESV. The CSB has replaced the ESV as my main reading, studying, teaching, and preaching Bible translation.
The CSB is my favourite translation. It's got that perfect mix between literal and readable, it's more literal than the NIV but more readable than the ESV, exactly the kind of translation I've been looking for.
The translation has great readability and accuracy! That is a hard balance to maintain. The CSB is a Bible I can recommend to the new believers and seasoned believers, equally.
@@RoySamuel don't worry. You are more than likely dealing with a KJV onlyist. Classic for them to spew accusations. The Greek text the KJV used, 5 out of the 7 volumes of the Received Text was translated by a Catholic priest named Erasmus
I own a few different types of Bibles and was looking at getting a “She Reads Truth” and wasn’t sure about purchasing one because it’s a CSB and I’ve always used KJV or NIV, most recently chose an ESV and my grandma gave us her favorite type of Bible as our marriage bible (you know like she gifted it to us with our names engraved and wedding date) anyways... this was very helpful!! Thank You for sharing. Looking forward to adding this to my Bible collection and reading through this Bible as I delve into my own daily personal time with the Lord.
As a pastor who uses the HCSB I have decided after reading through the CSB. I will not be using the CSB, but will go back to the NASB. Unless Holman will contiue to publish the HCSB 2010 version. In my humble opinion the CSB is nothing more then a veil attempt to make a clever remake of the 1984 NIV bible. If all you had done was to improve the English and drop the H. You would still have me teaching and preaching out the CSB, but you went a lot further then I can support. So please, for those of us who want to keep preaching and teaching from HCSB keep publishing it. Those who want the CSB publish it for them. If you can't do this then me and some other pastors will be going back to the NASB

Hi CSB! I love and appreciate this translation of the Holy Bible. I hope you will not frequently update your 2017 text, which is an update itself. I hope CSB will not be like the ESV and the NLT that frequently updates their version. Because, for me it means that the translators (including reviewers) were not confident in their final work, and it gives us the impression that it cannot be the Christians "Standard" Bible. As a consequence, we will not be confident too, and if we aren't confident enough, we will not be able to use CSB text as a memory verse for all ages. It will just be like some translations that we only use as an alternative translation, not as the main version (e.g. KJV) that the church can officially endorse or use. I hope you will be like the NIV, NASB and the NRSV that only after several decades it was updated because of the advances in scholarship and development in the English language. Lastly, it is expensive in our part to purchase your products again, because there's a new version and the 2017 is out of print and unusable already like the ESV 2011. Kindly update it if there's a significant change in the meaning of the English language or advances in scholarship, or archeologists discovered another ancient manuscripts (like the Dead Sea scrolls) that is earlier and authoritative. Congratulations to all!
The CSB is a very readable translation, I will give you that Why, though, does someone not produce the CSB in a Byzantine edition? The only reason I believe that the Critical Text manuscripts are older is because they weren't read as much as the Byzantine texts, so they didn't wear out as fast! I do not claim to be a scholar, but this is why I would like to see all of these versions also released in a Byzantine text version!

Unfortunately, the CSB suffers from the same issues as others of this type. They use as their basis when a lot of recognize the Majority Text as the most trustworthy, not the Critical Text.

Loved the HCSB, but not a big fan of the CSB. Sad the HCSB is going out of Print.
If you have an iPhone there's a Bible app, and the HCSB is on there, both text and audio versions.
