Love this! I'm currently making a similar table. Question about the slides. Since you screwed them directly into the table top, will that cause issues with seasonal movement? I saw you gave them a little play so it's still able to close up tight even if it shrinks, but I'm concerned about the slides constricting the movement with them being screwed straight in. Is there enough play in the slides pilot holes to allow for seasonal movement?
Thanks for watching! To answer your question, yes these slides do allow for seasonal wood movement. The pilot holes are slightly oversized to allow for shrinking or expanding. As long as the screws are not overtightened, there won't be any interference with the wood movement. Hope this helps!
I like your video!!thanks for the explanation. I have a doubt, where do you keep the part of the table that you put in and out? What is your suggestion?
Thanks for watching! Typically our customers choose to store the leaf extensions in a closet or pantry for quick access, but anywhere that is convenient for you will work perfectly!
Hi Brandy! There are a couple of factors that could contribute to bowing in the middle of your table. Humidity or temperature changes can cause wood movement if the wood isn't sealed properly. Additionally, if the weight of your center leaves are too heavy for your slides, it can cause a sag in the middle of your table. It is important to pick a table slide that has a proper rating for the size leaves you will be using. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to our customer service team!
Thank you guys.
Our pleasure! Glad this video could help!

Very nice color at the end. What stain was used to achieve that color?
Thank you! We used General Finishes Gel Stain in Java
What would cause bowing in the center?
