I installed a 2022 Topaz today on my 2021 Giant Trance (P.O.S) and the difference over the factory Fox shock was night and day different and I haven't even started to work on dialing it in. I absolutely recommend to everyone. Better yet, these guys are super easy to deal with. Just do it!
The 2022 Topaz was so good, I also bought the DVO Onyx Smashpot. Absolutely amazing gear and so good. You need to get DVO!! (Not sponsored... Just worth it!)
Also,im co fused asto what the official name is for this new shock, that you call "X". Is it the official topaz 3? I cant find anything online above that. Cheers.
Amazing vid. You know your shocks! Ive just had 2 fox x2 shocks blow up on me within 2 rides. Apparently they are known for this. Ive been told DVO will be more durable, but how about performance wise, will it equal a fox x2 kashima? Cheers :)
I am trying to change the stroke length from 50 to 55 on my 210x50 Topaz 2022. Where is the travel spacer I need to remove as the shaft is stamped 55/50 MM
Is this the official DVO channel or something? I am confused. DVO is based in the USA and this is new Zealand? Anyway, this looks like a fine shock. But how does it compare to say the Super Deluxe from RS?
We are the Newzealand distributor aka DVO NZ. I haven’t ridden a RS shock in ages so can’t comment but we do sell the topaz as an upgrade to a lot of people who previously rode super deluxe shocks
@Jesse DVO I have 2021 Trek Fuel ex with Fox dps rear shock and im planing to upgrade my rearshock, do you recommend Topaz 2 air shock for that bike or new Fox float X. Topaz 2 is cheaper and how much I see it has more adjustments. But im honestly looking for more durable shock, something that doesnt require very often service... Thanks in advance
Is this new 2022 update just for the Trunion Topaz shocks? Topaz has been high on my list but I don't need the Trunion style for my bike. Has or will the standard mount Topaz shock be receiving the same updates?
Any chance the new aircan is compatible with older shocks ? In the 210x52.5 version bottom out still leaves a lot of shaft visible so the additional length wouldn't be a problem, question is, is the "airshaft" diameter the same than before ? And s the equalization dimple in the same spot compared to the air-can threads ?
You're mentioning suspension designs that exert a side load on the shock, could you be specific? Would that be for example Meta or Stumpjumper linkage design?
@@dvosuspensionnz I see :D No problem, watched the video again with more attention and I got my answers. Anyway, thanks for your videos, they're really informative. Keep up!
I’m trying find a shock that has more support at the top do the stroke for better pedaling. I was referred to the topaz. Can you do this with any shock? Something with adding spacers to the negative air?
@@dvosuspensionnz does a fox dpx2 have that feature as well? I know it’s a random shock and you might be biased but I was wondering anyway. I like dvo but trying to save money and time

I have the same bike and looking for a shox 165x42.5... Seems like the topaz is outta stock on dvo website 😭😭

I've never felt suspension this amazing. I love the topaz t3 and diamond fork. Watt wagons Hydra!
Cool review for breaking things down, Please do one for the Onyx SC 2022 too.
Yeah I’ll do my best mate. Gota stay on top of orders and building suspension for customers but I will try
Some important innovation on new Onyx? What about 4-Way Jade shock?
@@mirospikos 4 way jade shock was just a test unit. Onyx has lots of little things that make it better and will get round to that when I have time
Are you going to do a video on how to service this shock?
Seriously, we need an explanation on the lack of green ano :P
Once again great info and a really nice resource.

Hi, do you know the outer diameter of the air can? I want to mount it in a frame with poor clearance...
Do these come with the same tune out of the box as the previous gen?
So my Topaz has started making a whistling noise under compression and rebound, any ideas why? Its about three years old

You can adjust the travel of the stroke? Thats cool, so if I got a 210x55 mm I can run it at 210x52.5?

Is this an upgraded T2 design for lower leverage ratios and trunnion? Cannot find this in the US.
We should have these in our Valencia office very shortly.
@@ronniedilan701 what is the cost? Thanks
@@ronniedilan701 Not seeing the new Topaz on DVO's US site? Only Topaz 2 and T3

Anything will be an improvement over the DPS but yeah obviously I’m going to recommend the new topaz
Hey Jesse, i noticed new hub/travel spacers are neccasary.
Yeah the shaft is a different diameter so iou need spacers that fit the shaft

@@dvosuspensionnz deadly ! thanks to the info !
Got myself a Topaz T3 for my Giant Reign 2 (2017) .. not sure if that frame puts load to the shock so that I can look after it. Any idea if it does ?
That’s not trunnion so will be easier on the shock
Hy Jesse, i can see a Jade X on your bench, what is the solution for the oil loss from the reservoir?
Hey mate. Not sure, We build all our units in house so I haven’t seen any loss of oil from a reservoir

It’s not retrofitable sorry mate
What is the max PSI this shock can run ? I'm a bigger guy and need more Psi to not bottom it out but can't find what the max is ?
To stop bottoming out you need to add volume spacers on the positive side. Air press to set sag
When can we expect to get this new shock here in Europe (Austria)?
I don’t know sorry man. I can only manage NZ
Can this fit ibis ripley v4 large frame ?
hope more video
Is this a new model or just updated?
What the difference between new and updated?
Will this fit the Bronson v3?
Yeah we have already fitted it to heaps
Trunnion sucks on all shocks, way to much stiffness on the wrong place on the shock...
can't find them anywhere for sale :/
