I don t get why she s not huge? Her approach is so personal .....so distinctive....whether doing originals or covers.........monster talent
She should be bigger, but the mainstream doesn't get her - which is a very high compliment.
this is not a good song that’s the biggest reason. Imagine using a national platform like the show and doing this imitation of reggae from a skinny white girl.
Her song Sari it’s really good. Her version of “don’t let the sun catch you crying” now that’s an amazing song. I’m not sure why she doesn’t select better material honestly. Because she’s super sweet and has an incredible voice
this is not true, the reason she missed her chance on the mainstream is because she took anti-Bush stances immediately @@kitrichardson2165
I am in love with everything about this. The song, her smile, how she rhymes 'time' with 'thing', everything.
Um, she doesn't rhyme time with thing in this song.
2:15 oops
Can't believe it's been 7 years since this performance. Love it just as much as I loved it then.
Loved her at the Denver Ukulele Fest. It was great talking to her before the show. She was so down to earth. Love the humor and the voice. Also want to thank her for the uke lesson. She is so beautiful with out the makeup, her glasses are more fitting for the brains behind the satire.

timeless.
I really like this song. I think she captured the island feel perfectly. This performance is very good, she also does a simpler version live on the radio in another video. Both have that feel.
I think many of her songs are really good.
Thanks for the upload! What a smile.
She is a colossal talent, in my opinion...and witty as hell! I suppose she's too sophisticated for the present age...dominated by corporate "entertainment". In some ways, and although their voices are very different, she reminds me, in terms of creative energy and lyrical skills, of the early Kate Bush....or perhaps, going back a little further, Laura Nyro. Artists who, when you hear them for the first time, blow you away with their originality.
Just brilliant.
Caribbean time in motion
Fireflyin' across the ocean
And I can see the future
Caribbean, Caribbean, Caribbean
Caribbean, Caribbean, Caribbean
In the modern potboiler
Anesthetize your mind
And if you won't be a lawyer
You're gonna need an alibi
And if you crave bein' an outlaw
Better to make a plan
For the guns and the promises they feed you
Will drag you in the sand
Nobody come clever enough
Before they get there, move their mainland rough
I'm takin' no direction and I walk-a real slow
For the words of oppression are go, go, go
Caribbean time in motion
Fireflyin' across the ocean
And I can see the future
Barbados to Barcelona
Caribbean time hereunder
I can see the future
Caribbean, Caribbean, Caribbean
Caribbean, Caribbean, Caribbean
If you want a dictator
You best get organized
And if you wan' be a hater
You make trains run on time
And if you crave a good pupil
Bring glory to the schools
And mind your Qs and Ps 'cause an island breeze
Is breakin' all the rules
Caribbean time in motion
Fireflyin' across the ocean
And I can see the future
Antigua to Macedonia
Darwinian time is over
I can see the future
It's no military time
It's an island time
Nobody come clever enough
Before they get there, move their mainland rough
I'm takin' no direction and I walk-a real slow
For the words of oppression are go, go, go
Caribbean time in motion
Fireflyin' across the ocean
And I can see the future
Barbados to Barcelona
Caribbean time hereunder
I can see the future
Caribbean, Caribbean
Caribbean, Caribbean, Caribbean
Caribbean, Caribbean, Caribbean
Caribbean, Caribbean, Caribbean
Caribbean, Caribbean, Caribbean
It's no military time
It's an island time
0:17-0:21 god i love her smile!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love the flat caps.
@JerruMerry I think her voice is sweet. Perhaps her vocal range would prefer a slightly lower or higher key?, I don't know.
I worked for 5 weeks on a music documentary in Kingston, Jamaica and they pronounced the name Caribbean the same as Nellie. So, are you saying Jamaicans mispronounce it too?!
@JerruMerry
Is there nothing but dust in your bean. The phrasing of the song demands that diction for Caibbean. Besides, the pronounciation of the word is variable by region.
I find your mind grating. You should as well.
errrrrry time xo xo xo
cute!
If were from the Caribbean, this would thoroughly piss me off.
No way! This silly woman does not even know how to pronounce Caribbean. I found her voice grating.
