Thanks for the time stamps! Unfortunately this isnt actually 1080p as the original from the DVD was only in 480p. I have just upscaled it to 1080p as UA-cam puts less compression on 1080p than 480p, thus the better quality due to less compression.
That moment is one of those 0.1% (time wise) studio moments that make the whole gruelling process absolute GOLD! Seeing that in video? Priceless! I was fortunate enough to have a best friend/bandmate who could pull this kind of ridiculous stuff out the bag at random.... I was the set-the-amp-pedals-and-fooking-everything-up guy (as well as being a co-band member), he really struggled with everything except being a supremely talented in-the-moment musician. If that red recording light wasn't lit, I didn't let him touch his guitar! EVERY damn time, first take was the golden one. I drove him nuts being the studio-head who could spend 9 hours getting the kick drum fucking perfect, but in the end he could barely believe that he played the riff in the context of the whole song. Neither of us have shit on Muse, but we both love them, and I can't even begin to explain how boring studio work is... but that single moment of "YES! That's it!!!" makes it all worth it :) Unfortunately my bandmate is no longer with us, so I'm solo for now. I will never forget his prowess under that "recording-red-light-of-doom"! I've got to learn his style now, and get as proficient as him to carry the band on, but man.... watching Muse in the studio fills me with the motivation and hope I need for some reason.
some of my fave belldom moments in this are 14:19 - 14:32 when the lady compliments matt (who's being the modest little genius ever) and dom is just sitting there in the background listening and smiling softly, especially at 14:31 .... it makes my heart so warm i also love 17:27 when dom comments on the song that it sounds really good, like, it's just a little comment, and he's ready to turn back to the computer to continue doing his stuff, but then matt starts talking about the song and what he thinks about it and all, and dom, even as he tries to keep working or whatever on the computer, he also gives attention to matt too, listening to him, and engaging in the conversation. this is actually one of my favourite thing about them, the way dom always so patiently listens to matt. because, like, we all know how much of a rambler matt can be, which sometimes can be tiring to listen to; but dom is such a patient man, i've literally never seen him brush matt off, or grow impatient with him and his ramblings, he always listens to matt's long (and sometimes confusing and hard to understand) speeches, patiently and attentively (if that's the right word here idk). okay also another thing lol, i Love the way matt always tries to make dom laugh, in which obvisously he always succeeds lol... like when he does something silly and then immediately looks at dom to see if he's laughing, example at 31:09, or when he says something funny and dom laughs at it, he of course HAS to keep talking and try to make it even funnier, example at around 8:28 with the cannibalism joke...... i just find it so endearing and cute, THEY are cute, i love belldom, okay that's all thanks for coming to my ted talk

They are absolutely unbelievable instruments, perfectly suited to how Chris plays: it doesn't come across when he plays how hard he picks... his picking style is percussive beyond belief, which suits the neutral and consistent sound of the graphite necked Status basses. Even more so because of how the input level to pedals like the Big Muff/Animato/Mastotron/Wooley Mammoth makes a massive difference to the sound. You don't want character or vibe when going from song to song with THREE amps driven buy multiple fuzz/distortions, backed up with a clean amp... you want crystal clean consistency. Not gonna lie, the whole carbon fibre look suits Chris down to the ground.... it has this total flash-as-fuck lad vibe, like a boy-racer's carbon-fibre-wrapped-evereything ride. Which is trashy as shit if not used well, but when you're Chris? He can back up the swagger with being able to smash out those riffs like it's nothing. Flash and pizazz, that's backed up with skill. He's through and through EARNED it. End of rant! Major respect to Chris.

Legitimately a flawless impression as someone who has seen Slipknot live way too many times... I'm glad Matt eventually thought better of that beard, haircut and fashion sense. Dom doesn't seem to age and was probably born fully grown and clothed. Chris looked older in 2009 than he does now, WTH!
Chris was deep in the depths of a drinking problem that was visible during Absolution, and gradually recovering from 2010 onwards before you could see his body back on track to where he is today. He lost a ton of weight for one, which can age people a lot. Great to see him these days, he's really looking after himself now, and clearly in a good place psychologically and physically. Major respect to him for that, it's a brutal road out of that darkness.
