You'd surely know my style of riding because I've always been old n slow with big chicken strips on the tyres. Probably because I started riding sidecars at 17 yrs old. Speaking of sidecars, the cheaper ones are hard to find.

I’m a bit ocd and my bike is coated in XCP Pro, better than ACF50 hands down. My bike looks clean and tidy on the surface but I’m not mechanically minded so it goes for servicing to keep it in good health. To be honest I don’t ride in the wet as I have knobbly tyres on tarmac, lethal but would never green lane or go off road as truthfully I can’t be bothered to clean it afterwards if it got filthy lol. The wear and tear parts are cheap and can be replaced when the time comes, so the discs, pads and even a new seat won’t cost the earth to keep it in tip top condition, not that I’m looking to offload it at the moment so will enjoy it until it dies… 👍🍻 Great vids, thanks !

Cool video. 👍 I had an an advisory on my MOT last week to say the rear tyre has some 'slight perishing on the tyre wall' but they didn't change it and it passed. How long would you say I can carry on with it because I forgot to ask the mechanic.

it carnt of been that bad if he passed it i would say get it done sooner rather than later as hitting a pot hole could make it go

for myself i would say, clean your machine as often as once a week. it keeps it in top condition, road traffic film holds water and contaminates, which is in close contact with paint, metallic surfaces etc. this causes corrosion, oxidation of paint which devalues your machine. if you want a good resale value, clean it, first stage of maintenance. also it is easier to see damage which can be addressed earlier. in winter, you may need to relube the chain daily, salt is evil to links. clean regularly, save money through not having to replace parts so often. plus you can have pride in your ride.

@@Ridingreviews my opinion is no more valid than anyone elses. just my take on things. but if you keep the machine in top condition it shows. clean it once in a blue moon, you can make it look decent, but look closely enough you can see the difference. IMHO washing the machine is the first stage of maintenance. Given that i feel this, it is just as valid as chain tension, lube, oil changes, valve clearance and everything between. someone who cleans the machine is more likely to do or have the regular maintenance done. a better proposition to buy.
