The Megaman X Corrupted game that Vinny was talking about has been in the making for over 10 years. It's basically open world/Metroidvani-ish Megaman X with crazy good detail. It's crazy good looking.
It looks like there's more than just Mega Man that inspired this game. I also see inspiration from Shatterhand, Bionic Commando, and surprisingly, Wario Land 4. The low-res, smoothly animated, widescreen art style is reminiscent of a Game Boy Advance, and the melee attacks, the picking up and throwing of defeated enemies, the destructible parts of levels, and the way treasure shoots out of enemies are very Wario-ish.
1:56 Mega Man X: Corrupted is a fan game that is being developed in Haxe (same engine used in Dead Cells). Also, the music composer of Gravity Circuit is making music for Corrupted.
The music in this game is so fucking good. I've been following the composer and when I found out that he's working on this game I wishlisted it immediately. Nice that the game itself is really fun on its own and is not just being carried by the music. The only weird thing to me was that some Booster Chips seemed like obvious picks like the double jump or stronger hookshot but that's a super minor nitpick. Can't wait for when the game finally drops.
I love these games that propose the question "what if the NES has a lot more storage space and didn't have transparency performance flickering nor lag".
Wait, is that the Bionic Commando hook? What a beautiful sight to behold. Also, I have to recommend the Azure Striker Gunvolt games for anyone interested in the Megaman X-likes, mostly because that series doesn't get enough love if you ask me
I played this demo a while ago when it first came out I saw a ad from the publisher on twitter and decided to check it out so glad I did I'm so glad people are finally checking this out.
Yooo!!! This is awesome to see Vinny play this. I played the demo the other day and it was so rad. This game is definitely an immediate purchase when it comes out for me.
I hope Vinny goes back to finish the MegaMan Zero series someday Those games are so fun and I'd love to see him react to the plot of Zero 3. Just thought this because this game reminds me of it.
Mega Man X corrupted. It's not a ROM hack, it's an entirely new game made by fans. It's a Mega Man X game, done up in a Metroidvania style, sort of like the first Mega Man Zero game. The game features all original sprite work that's designed to look like SNES sprites, but based off the art style of the Playstation games. Here's the real kicker: The same person who did Gravity Circuit's music, is who is doing the music for Mega Man Corrupted. They also did the music for Blazing Chrome. Dominic Ninmark. His composing is awesome, his name is going to be up there real soon with Tee Lopes and Jake Kauffman. He's that good.
It's like a combo of Z Knuckle, Chain Rod, and Kirby using Fighter. Neat. I'm not too sure about the gauge energy lifting up out of defeated enemies as stopping to go back and jump/grapple for them seems like a pace breaker. There are some Louis Rossmann videos of biking in New York at night with no one around during lockdown times.
feeling terrible while getting more than enough sleep is such a mood. *gets 4 hours of sleep* body: i can't feel pain and i'm gonna make you stay up for 20 hours today :) *gets 11 hours of sleep* body: we're gonna die at any moment also, gravity circuit looks like it fucks hard. definitely gonna have to check it out at some point.
I hope this game makes more people check on the mega man zero games, cause this game is HEAVILY inspired by mega man zero (with a bit of the x5/x6 hostage system thrown in) I mean, the fire stage is very similar to phoenix magnion stage, the "hookshot" is VERY similar to how the chain rod works and looks it, the chip system is literally from mega man zero 3,
Thank you indie devs for still making megaman-esque and sprite-based graphics videogames. Just because bigger players moved on doesn't mean these kinds of games don't have their appeal and fans.
Watching other people play this game really put into perspective how practised Vinny is in Megamen shuut games. First try Cable, second try Ray after getting Kamehameha'd: m.ua-cam.com/video/Rs10q5-HBNI/v-deo.html&pp=ygUtSGQgdGhlIGhlbnRyeSBzdGlja21pbiBjb2xsZWN0aW9uIHN1cGVyIGhlbnJ1
Good God this rocks. IDK how much dev time this demo alone has, but years of work feels about right And it'd be neat to see him play X Corrupted, heard I've heard it's good too
There absolutely is more Mega Man stuff coming, between inside knowledge, full-on leaks, and Capcom playing coy. I would assume however that, the world going insane, probably slowed things down a lot for quite a while.
Ooh he saw this!!! It's a wonderful looking and playing megaman-like that just like shovel knight keeps the good parts, builds off of it with unique original ideas, and gets rid of the bs parts of megaman like the later designs just becoming beanpole anime characters with metal plates glued onto them edit: 2:05 they even kept the funny float through doors thing that the clowns at capcom took out of the last megaman
@@SmileRYO the gameplay feel is awesome along with the many weapons but goddamn do 95% of the characters just look like scrawny anime characters in skintight suits
This is so bitter sweet for me. This game looks amazing, but I'm working on something similar with a lot of the same ideas and it's waaaay earlier in development. I almost hope it's "okay" for me to make another mega man style beatem up. I literally just implemented almost the same uppercut as the super move in this and had no idea lol.
Don't worry about it, just go for it, and make the game you want to make. There are a lot of games that inspired various aspects of Gravity Circuit, so it is only understandable that another developer might pull ideas from the same sources, and arrive at something similar. And even then, coincidences can and do happen.
Do the Raid Sponsership all in your "Hey gamerz!" or have VDub do it I'm sure he would be fine with the money as long as ya slide a few bucks under his door for some Dew and Dorites
@@flameshana9 it's more so sometimes games will just randomly not run properly on the deck because of compatibility issues even if it's a very low spec game. Demo runs fine though on it
Glad you are giving this game a chance. A perfect mix of classic megaman x and gba megaman zero. As for megaman x corrupted its a stand alone fangame that is been in development for years not a rom hack.
The level design looks great. I can definitely tell that the developers know what they are doing. The visuals are alright, but I heavily dislike the stylistic choice of giving every character and enemy a nearly monochromatic color palette. The designs and animations of the characters look so fun but they’re difficult to appreciate when each individual component blends together. The character’s abilities seem enjoyable to use. The grappling hook reminds me of an old flash game that I used to play. Overall, this game looks great but I’ll have to see more of it before I consider playing it myself.
You should take the raid shadow legends money but have them quadruple the payout, and do an entire stream just devoted to that garbage so they get off your back. a whole hour, just for their BS.

This game has amazing potential and judging from the first two levels I think we have an absolute banger on our hands
It also has an incredibly cool artstyle.
