  • On my quest to get in touch with my Asian roots, I have purchased a more "legit" Aroma Rice Cooker - here is my review and demonstration.
    Lately, I've been doing more Asian cooking (particularly Korean cuisine), and having a higher quality rice maker on hand has been helpful. My husband loves eating rice as well, and makes wraps with refried beans, ranch salad dressing, rice and sometimes chicken.
    The Aroma 16 cup ARC-988SB Rice Cooker is easy to use and clean, plus I like that you can purchase replacement parts on the company website.
    Looking forward to also using the steamer function and attempting to make rice cooker cupcakes and cakes!
    If you'd like to see more videos about this Aroma Rice Cooker, please let me know in the comments.

    Advice from an Asian (lol) rinse the rice! Do it three times and then put in the water. It's one to one rice to water ratio. You can use your hand and pour water to your knuckles but just use a measuring cup if you want. But really, please rinse! Will clean your rice and also improve texture by getting rid of some extra starch

    I love that bugger! I always get one!! Its big enough I put a whole chicken in, pour 1/2 a bottle of salad dressing on, close the lid, set the slow cooker button, and walk away! I use it to make chili. I use it on white rice setting to boil eggs! I can walk away and it works!! I LOVE mine!!

    In that up for tray, I do any number vegetables you wanna mention and I do chicken and fish and shrimp and also I add green onions and garlic and stuff like that to my rice depends on what dinner I want and I cook it in either vegetable broth or chicken broth, and I rinse my rice and tell him, the water runs fairly clear, and all that starches off at the rice that’s little tricks that I learned

    The great thing about the Aroma brand is they make it easy to buy a replacement inner pot from their website. We’ve had ours for five years and use it a lot.

    So many people I know have a rice cooker and they swear by them. I make rice on the stove with my rice pot. I only make rice in this one particular pot because it's like me and this pot have a rice relationship. Ever since I got into a relationship with this pot, I make fab rice. Sounds crazy, but there it is.
    I am looking forward to your cupcake video because I didn't know rice cookers could be so versatile. Thank you for the informative video.

    It used to come with a rice scoop? I hope it still does I purchased a new one. Gave my other one away and I missed it. I thought I would be using the pressure cooker for rice and I do but it cooks it so fast and I miss putting my meat and veggies above the rice and having a one pot meal. I got it on amazon and it’s good to be here quickly

    I am starting to get into steaming. We had a small one for a long time and it works great. Just recently we bought another real small one for eggs. I just ordered a medium and large steamer. That should do it. :-)
    There are some model that are WiFi and cost $150 to $200. I am not so sure my phone needs to talk to my cooker. Do these models just have a bunch of extra settings so you don’t have to set different times for different food?

      To wash I usually just pour water in, agitate and keep dumping out the excess. Then when the water runs clear, I make sure it's only up to the recommended line for how many cups of rice is in it.

    • @dingfeldersmurfalot4560
      @dingfeldersmurfalot4560 5 років тому

      The manual recommends rinsing the rise. IRL -- that is, on the stovetop -- I never bother. But in this pot, it's supposed to help keep the bottom from getting burnt-on rice. Which can be a problem with some rice cookers, or if you don't get to the pot in time.
