Sad truth is sometimes they come back and sometimes they don't. No contact isn't the solution it's just the best means for you to regain control of yourself, your emotions and perspective. Of all my ex-gfs maybe only half have made contact after a breakup, sometimes years after and only one did I actually try again with which didn't work out. As painful as it feels, whether you were needy or not, if someone rejects you then walk away immediately and not look back and never take them back unless your needs (and theirs) are going to be met.
