This is Rick's first steps to becoming ba true hero. When he is able to see past a villian's actions and see the pain behind it. I think he really reached Grundy. I wouldn't be surprised if he saves Rick from Eclipso.

I believe in some DC Comics and Shows Grundy is sometimes an ally to some of the Heroes and in some of his Origin stories he was a butcher who went crazy after his wife died.

Not really he's a Golden Age Green Lantern villain and I think a JSA villain too which is why he's on this show later in comics he became Batman's
