Er yeah i imagine its same as how anyone picks something...
If i like it i will choose it .
As for picking or looking for stories with spaces for sound effects ?? ..... well the sound effects are added in and stories not carefully picked so sound can be fitted in if the story has enough spaces for it . If you listen to some of the sounds, they coincidence with the narration, meaning going on at the same time as the talking . Its the same as how they put sound effects in films or tv shows or radio ( less the radio show is live then the sound effects are done while the reading is goin on ) its done after the narration or lines read , eg in a film say a shot with ppl dancing in a club its all done with no sound effects , no music playing only sound will be any lines that are in that scene then when the shot is right its taken and the music added in after .

@@dangminh3571 fck no I’m not letting a group of zombie vampires have a soul-feasting orgy over my dying body. I’d do what the wife did, but I wouldn’t go about it the same way. I’d sit down with my partner (sober), present our options, and tell them that I would rather die. If they don’t want to join me, that’s their choice. If they try and physically stop me then they’re the one being selfish and unfair. I can’t imagine much worse of a fate than the one her husband ended up succumbing to. So, to answer your questions, yes, vampires traditionally have animal familiars and the ability to control them. Dogs, wolves, bats, insects, cats, etc, are all pretty common. stronger vampires can do the same to humans. (Thus Dracula's "Look into my eyes" routine) This is how human Thralls are made. So next time you play Skyrim that's a fun detail you'll know.

Like background characters like Mr Jeep just made it a lot more terrifying because it reminded me that those were all people who lived their lifes just to get tackled and "murdered" by his neighbors.

Great story, really defines the notion “if you can’t beat em, join em!” Lol..also, i think (not 100% sure) the idea of Vampires having to be invited in, stems from a theological aspect, where vampires (like demons or fallen angels) rescind their “free will” in which humans were given the freedom by God to do so, but angels were not..i guess this would transcend to fallen angels, demons and vampires alike..

my theory was that it started with Sumerian type warding you know? Nail a frog to your door and the demons pass you over? Then eventually the door itself became the ward, like a demon is an animalistic thing which cannot exist in the civilized except for in the weakness of ones heart (an invitation). The house being a metaphor for the self. Maintain the door and maintain the house and the ward is retained but if an abode is left vacant, like say, an abandoned castle? well they then can just walk right in because the civilized do not rest there. Maintain your heart and evil cannot rest there, but if your love is left untended and vacant then evil will easily enter within, yknow? thats what i thought

They had the choice of what they knew was an eventual death in the house, or risk going outside to possibly escape this nightmare. It's risky and desperate, but hardly stupid given the circumstances. Not to mention that I think you're really underestimating the amount of psychological damage that can be inflicted on the survivors. Neighbors and friends that they've known for years are now bloodthirsty monsters continuously tapping on their house, promising peace but only delivering a death of the soul. That's not just a "creepy noise," it's absolutely damaging to the human psyche and will wear down on anyone who has to endure it every night in a hopeless world.

it’s just vampire stuff, i’ve never heard stories of vampires breaking and entering, but that’s what happens in games. I think the difference is in written media, it’s more interesting to have to let them in, while in a video game format, that makes the experience alot less intense. Vampires in stories and folk lore almost always can’t enter your home without a welcome, but I’ve seen it be portrayed that even a “welcome” entrance rug is enough.
