    Great video my friend! Nice to have you back. Not booked on a prima class yet, but maybe in the future. I have lots of time until my next cruise to daydream and plan. As always, sending sunshine smiles from the west coast! 🌞🌞

      Hi friend 👋 It's good to be back, wow 2024 was a full year, here's hoping that 2025 will be abundant with space for more videos! I think sometimes dreaming about your next adventure is almost the best part 😉 Thank you for the sunshine smiles, I hope that all is well with you (at a time when there's so many things going on); it's -20 with the wind today so I'll take all of the sun / warmth I can get!

      @ the fires in LA have been a challenge, but at least I’m not in an evacuation area. So much devastation and sadness. Here’s hoping that 2025 is a great one for both of us! 😘😘

    Great video! Unfortunately each of the drawbacks mentioned matches my experience on the Viva very specifically (like exactly what you said about waiting an hour in line for Syd Norman's and getting a standing spot in the back), and the negatives far outweigh the positives for me so I plan on avoiding Prima Class ships in the future.

    There's no lighting at the front of Ocean Boulevard because it would interfere with the visibility of the bridge crew. It's very important to have complete darkness for them at night so they can see well. Just like in your car, you don't turn on the dome light at night - a similar concept.

    I actually cruised the Prima in April to Aruba, 12 days. I totally agree that most venues are too small. It appears that NCL sacrificed inside spaces to give more room to the outside space. Have you done a video on the More at Sea program yet? I'd like to known your thoughts.

    After watching this video I plan to cancel the cruise I have reserved on the Viva for late this year. I just got off the NCL Breakaway and I waited in a line for one hour to get into Syd Norman’s, not my idea of a vacation. The small venues are just not practical for the number of passengers on board. I’m going to look into a Princess cruise which I have sailed on in the past and I really liked.

    Thank you, very good video. My Prima cruise was very good. Indulge excellent food options. Very busy hard to get a seat. Sid Norman was too small and over crowded. Very good show. For me, I like NCL bliss the best ship.

    Hey Grant! My partner and I are considering our second NCL cruise this summer, after taking our first ever cruise on the Prima. We loved the food and adored our room, but couldn’t go to the main dining room (my partner got really bad sea sickness there, even with our patches on!). We are huge fans of the freestyle dining and recently got our photo from Cagney’s framed 🤣 We really hold Norwegian in high esteem, but are concerned these ships (Prima and Viva) are just way too similar and it’ll feel like the exact same trip again. Do you think it might make more sense for us to sail the Aqua, since it has the new addition of the Glow Court?

    • @CruisewithGrant
      @CruisewithGrant  9 днів тому

      Hi again 👋 I'm so glad that the first cruise was a good one for you (sea sickness aside that's always a bummer). The Viva and Prima were designed to be identical ships, so definitely something to consider. The previous NCL ships all included some slightly different features, but these two are pretty much carbon copies. Ultimately it's what will be a great cruise for you, I've sailed on the same ship for different itineraries and had a good time, but you may want to experience something completely new.

      Hi Yolanda 👋 I'm so glad you liked the video 😊 I feel like for teens the larger ships (the Breakaway and Breakaway Plus class ships) will probably have the most to do; they have racetracks and arcades and many of things I spoke about in this one. Most ships will also have Entourage the teen club and there's likely to be more teens on board the larger ships (also on the warmer, Caribbean itineraries); Entourage has video games, board games, and one I saw even had their own DJ booth. I hope this is helpful in finding the ship that's best for you! You'll have to let me know when you pick one out! 🙌

    I sailed on Prima and didn't like the ship at all...Great food onboard but I really dislike this class of ship...The breakaway/ plus fleets are my favorite..

    The Prima class ships have the most horrible and stupid atrium design of all the ships I have ever been on. If I was in charge of NCL, the naval architects and all executives who approved that design would be fired.
    There is no performance area that is visible from decks 7 and 8. When the music combo was playing back in the corner on deck 6, you could hear music coming from "somewhere", if you were on decks 7 and 8. If you were on deck 7, you could see the performers legs from a corner of the atrium opposite the corner stage. The performance area should be forward and center, not a stupid staircase, so people on all 3 decks can see and hear the performers or see a game or demonstration.
    On every other ship, the sight lines were open so all people on all decks could see and hear, which makes those atrium performances so fun. Also, on other ships, there was food, at least snacks, available in the atrium areas. But on the Prima, there is a coffee bar and two alcohol bars on the three decks, nothing to eat at all. Just a stupid and ridiculous design for an atrium on a ship!

  • @DB-zp9un
    @DB-zp9un 9 днів тому +1

    That atrium set up is HORRIBLE!!! Worse than the Epic.... We LOVE the atrium so guess we need to stay away from this class! edit: As far as places like comedy club and syd normans I've heard they are smaller because if it gets past a certain size / seating capacity, they have to pay performers more? edit: dont like the charge for mini golf.. that's for sure.. would guess no lights on front of ship would be just strictly because of bridge not wanting extra lights to distract them
