many of them didnt have lugs to hold the keyboard plate, but were stuck by double sided sticky tape, i should think membrane failure most common fault with these now.. next being bad 4116 ram chip(s) or bad dc-dc converter..or both! one of the lugs on mine has come off the keyboard plate, not sure what they used to stick it or were they spot welded?
nice, i see you didnt 'blanket' recap it, many think it necessary, i dont, theres only a couple of caps that are critical, most important one being c46, if that goes bad, low or no -5v and 'frying tonight' for the 4116s.. 😉

They look as if they are spot welded or maybe soldered.
@@pjretroredux No, they're not soldered, facia is aluminium! Try superglue to repair.
My Spectrum didn't have the tabs under the keyboard; the metal plate was fixed with double-face adhesive tape.
Seams to be a few variations of 48k out there. Wonder if it was different manufacturers?

I probably would have gone further but once I cleaned the video up and the keyboard worked I left it at that lol. cheers for watching
Good job, but I was expecting to see it playing Head Over Heels, as it's shown in the thumbnail.
Sorry about that lol. didn't crack out the tape deck
