I just can't help but think about what Araki said about how a manga panel can be so impactful, the whole thing about the "eternal moment" how an artist can put a piece of themselves into a panel and convey it so vividly to others.
For me, there's only one answer. Vinland saga, chapter 191, Hild's forgiveness. There is no words to describe the first time you read it, specially if was in the day of release. Years of growing and development, with moments of pain and joy, the only thing keeping Thorfinn from achieve his goal was the merely presence of Hild, she was the incarnation of all the people he ruined their lives, and also the ones who he killed. So when she forgives him, it was like all of that people forgives him too, because she represent them all. It also was the moment when he understand that he is able to let the past go and forgive himself for all the things he did. For me it was the best moment of all the mangas I've ever read. Simply beautiful, deep, emotional, and really the peak of fiction.
The panel where Usogui continues holding the handkerchief is impeccable, there are no words to describe it, it surpasses what is defined as fiction in itself.
Two panels I really love from a narrative perspective and from the "page turn shock" are from 20th Century Boys: - The moment Otcho enters the science room in the present, which is such an ominous image that leads to my favourite scene in the manga. - The moment we find out what Donkey saw in the science room, which is the biggest jumpscare I've ever gotten from a manga page. And I have read actual horror stuff.
Rickert slapping Griffith is such a good panel that it has been given its own name, "Causality Strickes Back." I don't know if any other manga panel comes even close.

The last panel/page of Ashita no Joe is so iconic that it still gets homages and references in animanga to this day, 50+ years after it came out. Something to be said about how good the ending of that manga is and its impact on the medium
All this vid is making me do is run over firepunch panels in my head. I honestly think that inside that series alone there’s a few that are in the running but I always loop back to the actual schitzo face that Agni makes when he just loses all grip on reality. It’s such a weirdly detailed piece and the fact that I still can’t tell wtf Agni is supposed to be feeling in that moment still sticks with me

One thing I really value in a manga panel is making me believe what is unreal is real, making me believe. And a panel that does that almost perfectly is the one where the jonin interrupt Neji. In a single moment the emotions, the teachers, the school and the violence all become real. It’s an unexpected but very realistic reaction to an unrealistic event. Plus the composition and posing is sick and make the jonin look really powerful

The one panel that made me go like "wow thats brilliant" like no other is the one from CSM where Asa overexplains marine life, the way Fujimoto depicted distance between Asa and Denji using dialogue circle is something that I've never seen before and it just left an impact on me From pure art perspective, dandadan sometimes goes way too hard
At the end of the day, it always comes back to Berserk with me. All I have to do is glance at a drawing of Guts, and I am overwhelmed with such emotion, to where it can only be quelled by hitting the gym until even my blood feels sore.

Some manga with panels (or that are just really good in general) that could contend in this “contest”: Dorohedoro, witch hat atelier, choujin x, ranger reject, made in abyss (questionable), versus, Ajin Demihuman, hells paradise, etc. I have more but I won’t ramble on too much. I’ll give my top 3 panels: Agni’s pained smile, Sato’s 9/11 moment, and Bondrewd rising from the abyss

My favorite panel ever is probably the face Agni makes in fire punch when he finally convinces himself that someone who wasn’t his sister, was his sister. It just shows how far mentally gone he was. And it never gets better from there.
I really like the gojo one where its just him looking to the left with a plain background and a text bubble the just says "the strongest", i love how its so simplistic.
I prefer "I am a ghoul" personally, though that one of Haise sadly looking to the sky is a contender purely because of how many profile pictures and banners I've seen it in.
Another God tier artist for me is Shinichi Sakamoto especially The Climber the story and the art is insane.and I think in Innocence his art just even more transcended.

8:40 check out Usogui then, the author is absolutely insane, creating chapters weekly for 11 years with little breaks, the last 200 chapters which are the 3 final arcs is probably the greatest stretch of arcs in manga ever, some of the best art and storytelling combined

When I think of this, 3 manga panels come to mind. 1. The first appearance of super Saiyan. This is probably the most famous panel from Dragon Ball, and probably one of the most famous manga panels ever. 2. Gus Screaming "Griffith". I haven't gotten to that part of Berserk yet, so I don't have much to comment on it story wise, but it's definitely a very iconic and influential panel. 3. Jotaro approaching DIO is jojo's. This is probably the most memed manga panel, and probably in my opinion the most influential. You can't go on the internet without seeing it at least once a week. An honorable mention is "Nah, I'd win.". It's not influential or iconic at this point, but I think that's mostly because it's pretty new. If you give it a few years, I believe it could reach the levels of influence of other panels.

Magi has some of my favourite panels ever The way cities or landscapes, even planets and extradimensional objects are drawn just has such briliance i also like the character design like sindbad a lot With that said my Favourite panel is probably Aizen getting sealed or some Vagabond panel Cant go wrong with Vagabond
Some mangas I didn't notice you talking about about in this video that have imo some of the most powerful art out there would be made in abyss with it's magnificent panoramic shots of incomprehensible fractal landscapes, any of Atsushi Kaneko's works like deathco with such bleak horror leaking black and white and yet full of life and expression panels, or Shuzo Oshimi's panels where reality completely falls apart and only remains the troubled eroded psyche of the character on the paper. I'm sure there are a lot of other great mangakas, but these to me really made me realize that there can be beauty and force in art where you wouldn't necessarily expect it and sky's the limit
I have two personal favorites: 1) The double page of Guts and Griffith facing each other at the top of the hill, before tragedy occurs. 2) The colored page of the beginning of Catastrophe, in Gantz.

The raw emotion contrasted with the artificial context of the scene is so powerful (love that Ascension was shown, even if you did not mentioned it by name, this manga has some great art and awesome story)

My favourite context panel is in vagabond when musashi miyamoto is discovering why he values life. In the heat of a battle, he sees a spider hanging down… he looks up slowly panel by panel until he sees that stars and realises how beautiful the night sky is. Truly 1000 words in one panel. That is peak.
this video reminded me, one time i was bored out of my mind in class and pirating oneshots on this sketchy website, and i stumbled onto this yuri thriller manga about a girl with a lot of alternate personalities, basically part of the early plot was that one of them killed all of the rest which led to this panel of her lying down on top of a pile of corpses with the craziest, most scared expression on her face and it was honestly the most banger panel i’ve seen in a while
Really, really good video! So many of my favorites in here! I was incredibly happy when you came to manga that have silent panels, and you mentioned Blame! But on the topic, I agree, some panels might be artistic masterpieces, while others might be rather simple, but it's all subjective, and it all depends on the impact the story has on you. That said, I'm more biased toward seinen manga. Also, since it didn't appear in the video, you might want to check out Bokutachi ga Yarimashita. It's a deeply psychological manga about guilt and other themes of human existence, that comes with some really fantastic panels, especially in the realm of facial expressions.
One of if not my favorite manga panels of all time could really be any panel from Berserk. But if I had to choose one it’s the one where Guts is riding on Zodd and slicing through Ganishka. That panel is so peak to me and I need a painting of it
“He became””A God.” From 20th century boys is my favorite manga panel as of now. Even though there’re are probably better ones, this one had the most impact on me for some reason.

If you haven't read dandadan then you absolutely should; you'll be quickly hooked. The characters are so lovable and the art is insane for a weekly manga. It's popular enough but I'd still call it underrated.

The way cities or landscapes, even planets and extradimensional objects are drawn just has such briliance i also like the character design like sindbad a lot
With that said my Favourite panel is probably Aizen getting sealed or some Vagabond panel

Some mangas I didn't notice you talking about about in this video that have imo some of the most powerful art out there would be made in abyss with it's magnificent panoramic shots of incomprehensible fractal landscapes, any of Atsushi Kaneko's works like deathco with such bleak horror leaking black and white and yet full of life and expression panels, or Shuzo Oshimi's panels where reality completely falls apart and only remains the troubled eroded psyche of the character on the paper. I'm sure there are a lot of other great mangakas, but these to me really made me realize that there can be beauty and force in art where you wouldn't necessarily expect it and sky's the limit
I have two personal favorites:
1) The double page of Guts and Griffith facing each other at the top of the hill, before tragedy occurs.
2) The colored page of the beginning of Catastrophe, in Gantz.

Hey man, just in case someone hasn't told you this yet, but the nuance is highly appreciated, I often find seinen fans to be extremely bitter for their favourate series and for the lack of a better term, elitists, like some part of them has forgotten how personal an experience stories can be, great video

That panel of hild forgiving thorfinn in vinland saga made me cry
for me, it is punpun and friends holding hands under the stars.
The best panel in manga is when the friend saves the popes life and points up into the sky, with the dialogue saying “on that day, our friend became a god”
Whoa, cool your horses, Mister Modern Vagabond. All of this is amazing, but as a bachibro, I must implore you to go check out some kagurabachi panels. In only 40 chapters, Takeru Hokazono has make some of the most peak panels. Truly Tenoí.

My favorite manga panel might be the one in Pluto by Urasawa where Gesicht break the news to the widow robot.... The raw emotion contrasted with the artificial context of the scene is so powerful
(love that Ascension was shown, even if you did not mentioned it by name, this manga has some great art and awesome story)

I liked the panel where it showed the cosmos on Garous face, like the entirety of the universe was shrunk Garous face was a direct visual portal to the essence of said universe, during his introduction
Probably the last panel in climber of Mori sitting by a rock looking up at a mountain that shi was beautiful
Fun vid, personally a certain panel from land of the lustrous would be my favorite (though its a gargantuan spoiler so i wont say what it is) the manga is great with a way more graphic design adjacent aestetic/philosophy in some parts.

One of my favorites is the "Do you want to die" panel in dr stone. That one hit me the moment I read it with how mysterious it felt.
I love the panels from chainsawman, the power cake, and the snowball fight, they made me love fujimoto work

My favorite is Askaland grabbing thorfin’s shoulder and I think the greatest is the pain panel, it’s just so iconic and really well done
Joe's death in the end of ashita no joe is the greatest, by FAR. arguably most iconic manga panel of all time( been referenced many many times)

Agni's live reaction is another one that I like a lot, very simple but the emotion it portrays is just perfect

My favourite context panel is in vagabond when musashi miyamoto is discovering why he values life. In the heat of a battle, he sees a spider hanging down… he looks up slowly panel by panel until he sees that stars and realises how beautiful the night sky is. Truly 1000 words in one panel. That is peak.
For me it has to be Johnny's act 4.

this video reminded me, one time i was bored out of my mind in class and pirating oneshots on this sketchy website, and i stumbled onto this yuri thriller manga about a girl with a lot of alternate personalities, basically part of the early plot was that one of them killed all of the rest which led to this panel of her lying down on top of a pile of corpses with the craziest, most scared expression on her face and it was honestly the most banger panel i’ve seen in a while
Really, really good video! So many of my favorites in here! I was incredibly happy when you came to manga that have silent panels, and you mentioned Blame! But on the topic, I agree, some panels might be artistic masterpieces, while others might be rather simple, but it's all subjective, and it all depends on the impact the story has on you. That said, I'm more biased toward seinen manga. Also, since it didn't appear in the video, you might want to check out Bokutachi ga Yarimashita. It's a deeply psychological manga about guilt and other themes of human existence, that comes with some really fantastic panels, especially in the realm of facial expressions.

One of if not my favorite manga panels of all time could really be any panel from Berserk. But if I had to choose one it’s the one where Guts is riding on Zodd and slicing through Ganishka. That panel is so peak to me and I need a painting of it
