  • Today we use the MX5400 for the first time on a serious task, loading a fair size 11' Loblolly pine log to the sawmill. At this point I still had no grapple, so a set of skid steer forks are used on the SSQA loader. It's slow going because of the unfamiliarity of the new machine combined with the use of the set of forks on something other than the skidloader. No matter though, we manage to get it securely on the bunks with no damage to man or machine.
    The Missus comes out to give her take on the situation and gets the chance to give a slight comment or two about the newly completed forklift counterweight. We don't manage to get the first portion of squaring the cant due to operator error with the camera. Yes, once again I prove that failure as a cameraman is an easy thing to sustain...as shown by the abrupt end to the video. No matter the next one will pick up where this one leaves off and the Missus will get the chance to do a lot of the sawing. #tractor, #diy, #kubota

    Good evening Wendell
    First thing .. Thank you for your service..
    I am a huge supporter for Veterans..
    I have the utmost respect for you all..
    I too recently got Hearing Aids. What a world of difference.. I can now hear things I haven’t heard in years..
    Can’t wait to hear the crickets soon…
    So I don’t know if you remember me telling you about my old International tractor I have but I am hoping to get it running this weekend… Been setting for years.. Wish me luck…😊
    Probably put it up for sale after…
    I don’t have as many as you but it’s time to pass a few on… Trying to lighten my kids load before I go.. hahahah
    Thanks for sharing the new counter weight with us.. 👍👍
    Cheers my friend

      Thank you Gus. My service was a cakewalk as an electrician. I had it really good. Yes, it's funny to hear things I haven't heard in a long time. I forgot how noisey birds really are. We are supposed to have a return of a massive nuimber of cicada's this year. THAT'll be deafening for me now that I can hear. Good luck with the International !! I know you'll get 'im going. And I too am moving some down the highway.

    That’s a big log tractor did well to pick it up going to be some nice lumber there. Glad to hear your hearing aid’s are helping . Our compensation with the government will pay for our if your hearing loss was due to your work and they will renew them every five years just got my second set new and improved only thing better with these are you don’t have to change batteries just put them in there case at night and they charge and they go through my phone so I can take a call hands free and watch a video other than that no better than the old set if I am in a noisy place can’t talk to anyone but I can hear the noise great good video guys thanks for sharing take care hope you guys are having a great week

      Yessir Tom. You hit the high points of the benefits of the new style. Mine are very similar. There's even an app for the phone that allows settings for different environments. I like the way it interacts with the phone. My one old uncle had a pair that the big battery pack would stay in his bibs pouch. He'd adjust the big knobs on it and 20 feet away you could hear the screeching of the feedback when he'd try to get 'em set just right. The things in his ears were like big round thimbles, thick and the size of quarters !! We've come a long way for sure. Take care and have a awesome week my friend.

    Love to hear your and your Wife talk. The weight looks great. That's a good sized log. I know they put all these things on Cameras to help,just wish they would put a manual override and an alarm for when the card is about to run out. Which for all I know they already do : ) As always I liked and shared. All my very best to all of you.

      I'm the first to admit that technology is my weakest point. It's hard for me to remember some of the little steps with computers. They change the sofware all the time. Supposed 'upgrades'. But you'd think I'd remember the minor things about a camera wouldn't you...(-;

      Heck man thank YOU, but my service was a cakewalk. I was an electrician stationed in Hawaii for 2 solid years out of 4 years in !! Waikiki beach wasn't too tough to deal with in the early 70's. It boils down to the luck of the draw my friend.

    You need to tell The Missus to fix the holes in those pants OR ELSE. LOL.
    Another great video.
    The hearing aids take a little bit to get use to but are great in the end.

      Hahahaha...she gives me the devil all the time about my pant and shirts having holes in 'em. For some reason she thinks that makes me look like a bum. But I am not known for my attention to style. My subscription to 'Gentleman's Quarterly' ran out before it started !! (-: Yes, these things take a little getting used to for sure. But they sure help cover up the tinitis. My ears are busy hearing all the other stuff that's going on out there it manages to drown out most of the ringing. Not all, but most.

    I can't complain about the VA, they did my cataract surgery and many other things and I don't have to pay anything.

    • @tractorman4461
      @tractorman4461  3 місяці тому

      I'm glad to hear that !! Cataracts are becoming a concern of mine too. The VA has a big push going on to enroll as many vets as they can right now. The PACT act has really freed them up to provide much better and more intensive service. They want us to use them for our primary care and everything now. Used to a fella couldn't hardly get his foot in the door. I don't know about dental, but eye care is also provided.
