Julie Andrews is Maria. It's like the role was made for her. Decades have passed and we still haven't found anyone like her in the theater world. Speaks volumes to the talent that she was.
Thanks for putting up these vids! As I mentioned earlier, I only tuned in a few weeks ago when it started airing on BBC-America. I'd predicted that Connie would win. Helen was really good, too!

I think, although Helena did come on in leaps and bounds in the last few weeks, I don't think she was right for Maria. Don't get me wrong, she's a fab singer and has a great personality, but Connie was my Maria, always. Does anyone know what all the Marias went on to do after this show? I'd love to know! xxStellaxx
even though they were both good, i don't think helena looks like she could 'climb a tree and scrape her knee' like one of the songs in the show says she does. connie suited the role better.
Julie andrews a million times better. sry. Nobody compares to Julie.. i love her! Whats this for anyway??!?? and their voices really dont blend well together. though they're ok seperate.
