Sorry to hear that "Lightning" Len Strydom 2:25 passed away today, He was an awesome guitarist. Best wishes & deep sympathies to Len's loved ones. RIP Lenny. Great times were had at Archipelago, Bud's Hangar & else where in the 80's.
When I was but a little girl friends of my family lived in Africa and brought a signed record version of "Run Rhino Run," we played it in the backyard over and over again. (at double speed on the little record player). Unfortunately we forgot about it playing in the backyard and came back to a very warped/melted record.but I still remember the song from when I was about 5 years old :).
Len playing lead, Danny on drums, Divaris bros bass and vocals respectively; in some dodgy Harare Club: Best mate and I pissed up, those were the times of my life....
D.J., Amber, and Gomo who were shot and killed week. These three Black Rhino were saved from rampant poaching in Zimbabwe in the mid 1980's.Four poachers came to Imire one evening this week.D.J. was shot and killed. Her calf survived. Amber, heavily pregnant, was shot and killed. Her unborn calf, almost at full term, did not survive. Gomo,was shot and killed.D.J.'s calf will be hand reared on Imire with two other young rhino.
