Can we just appreciate that Edwin is legit just a really thoughtful friend. He's always doing little things like the tyre refresh, even back at car throttle.
I am going to be honest, when Edwin was announcing quitting and starting his own youtube channel I wasn't sure whether he would have the pull for it. But so far, out of AutoAlex, TDC and All the Gear, TDC has been my favorite channel and hopefully they continue doing the great work
Genuinely one of the realist youtube car revivals I've seen. Sometimes it's best to just start from fresh. There's a convertible in my life that's got a ruined interior, a power top that doesn't move, and a heater core to replace and while these are all things to be sorted on any classic. All at once is as much as finding one with any singular problem.
I know this is a really hard task, but I _live_ for content like this. It's like breathing new life into old, forgotten souls. I love it (edit: just finished the vid; I don't blame you for that choice at all lol)
I totally get what you mean. I spent about £220 restoring an antique umbrella a couple of years ago and while it was a daft way to spend that money it's SO satisfying to use it now.
@@lettuce984 It was repaired by hand by skilled people using vintage parts and high quality material. There was a sterling silver collar missing that I had them replace which was about £75. When I got it it still had its original silk canopy; it would have cost even more if I had them replace it with silk! It was originally manufactured in 1906.
I can’t believe from one disastrous channel end to creating three amazing channels all through effort, support and a genuine love for what you do well done lads 🎉
Love the content from all of the channels, get quite excited whenever one of the three uploads a new video! But it's just another X5... there were like 20 of those across the crew. Looking forward to the next car, cheers guys!
Honestly you guys are the best! when you made this channel i was excited to see what you did but didn't expect it to rocket to one of my favourite car channels in such a short amount of time, the chemistry and comedy is second to none, keep it up 🙌
Loving the content fellas ...... it's the sweet spot of dicking around, taking the p155 and getting things done - Keep it up, i'm a happy subscriber :)
You two genuinely crack me up. Will, i never watched you on druve trube but ive really enjoyed watching you on TDC, and Edwin, its great to see you thrive in your own enviroment. Top tier duo 👌
Are they reliable especially compared to the 2.0d ones? Looking to get one in the future as my dad wants a higher up car to make it easier for him to manoeuvre in etc
@@sol-hb8zgThe 3 liter M57 diesel is one of the best engines BMW has ever made + great base for power uprgrades. I'd say if you buy an X5 3,0d that's not horribly mistreated you'll be just fine :)
AutoAlex has somehow managed to build a mini UA-cam empire off the back of CarVertical, and I couldn’t be happier about it! So glad to see all you guys under one umbrella!! ❤️
Just got my hands on a 2005 X5 Sport 3.0d manual, I've already had the entire interior out to dry out the carpets and naturally had to replace a door handle retainer or 2, but cleaned up and back together these are just awesome cars! Even rocking the Accelera IOTA's!!
Actually doing a video with the hardship of having to fully fix the X5 would have been good. Much of the best content I have seen is actually those kinds of videos. Don't be afraid of longer format videos.
Glad after all the changes, the leave from CT and the break into 3 channels, Ethan is still the Milkman. Gotta keep experts like that close in your life.
I would love to see longer form video, possibly a series fully fixing a munted car like the previous X5 with the stuck glowplug. Would've been great to see you guys take the head off andfix the glowplug issue. All of us might even learn something.
I'm glad things went the way they went in this video. As a car lover, a stubborn bastard and a "never-give-upper", its so important to know that ultimately there is a point of the value vs time/money and sometimes you need to just stop... I won't change, I'm a sentimental fool, but it's important to know. 🤣
Those were beautiful machines in the day. My favourite shape. The local police had them and if you saw one in the mirror looked so purposeful. Looking fwd to this
It was a bit of a dog, but you gave it a good go. Just a little thought I had - you possibly could have left the one knackered glow plug in and replaced the rest. I have a TD5 LR Defender - 5 cylinder diesel, and by design it only has glow plugs in 4 cylinders. That's enough to get it running even in the depths of winter, and cylinder 5 soon catches up. "Centre"
I thought it was a spider when Will was in the Car 🤣Loved the fact you called Ethan for the oil check. All squirrels, should now be known as "50 cal squirrel" 😂😂 Loving the content.
Did your grandad leave that red XJ in the field too? Worth a rescue for some non-BMW content and maybe some Tom feature too? And who doesn't love a Jag.
Absolutely LOVE the channel guys, rapidly becoming my FAVOURITE channel!! may I just ask, something doesn’t look quite right with the new wheels on the new X5? or is it just the lighter colour creating some kind of UA-cam optical illusion??
Limp mode issue is more than likely the gear selection switch mounted on the side of the gearbox. Get a genuine part for around £300 (there are cheap parts which only last about a year) it’s a 5 minute fix if your dashboard doesn’t show the gears and shows the fault “trans failsafe”
I doubt the glowplugs prevented it from starting. I ran one with faultcodes on all 6 for a year. It wasnt not happy in the in winter at -30c but it started. In the summer i did not even notice it, hence why I forgot to fix it before winter.

I don't think the words "50 cal squirrel" have ever been said before in history...
But every big squirrel will now be called as such
I've not watched further than the intro yet and I'm intrigued
So you are saying that squirrels weren't measured before by the size of the holes they make? 😳
Every larger than normal animal shall be referred as such 😂
