@@all_time_elevated I have my doubt..He is trying to build a false narrative that darjeeling belongs to Nepal ...By conveniently starting the history after Nepal’s occupation of Sikkim ,without telling that Nepal actually captured it from Sikkim and the original inhabitants of darjeeling were the lepchas. I doubt that he just missed the fact, i think he is deliberately trying to ignite fire where there is no fire. The gorkhaland movement is not about independence from India and joining Nepal, its their legitimate demand within indian sovereignty.

After the Independence of India there were Nepali gorkhas and ministers protesting against Britishers in India and two leaders from Darjeeling came to Nepal to re-merge but at that time Nepal was protesting against Rana rule. Ranas didn't wanted to merge Darjeeling because they were sacred they too will protest. Kings weren't in power. Mahatma Gandhi and vallabhbhai Patel also threatened the kings and Ranas about lives of gorkha army and protesters in India and Ranas didn't do it and later kings were bounded by parties directly run by india ( nepal Congress) .And Grija Prasad koirala is a direct lap dog of Gandhis. So you now understand. Now Darjeeling history so cleverly altered its saddening .
