It has taken me over 2 hours so far to follow what you are doing, as although on first watching it seems simple enough, there are steps, for newbies like me, that need to be shown picture resolution to download from Pixabay, how you are saving it, showing us how to change the background (which I finally worked out) by clicking the bottom left hand swatch button etc. I appreciate that putting out videos does take a lot of your time up, and any help is always appreciated, but could you go more slowly, step by step, and show us what formats to download in etc. As I said, I really appreciate your tutorial, but could do with a little more explanation and step by step, literally, holding our hands. But nonetheless, a big thank you for this video tutorial 🙂

U explained very well. But when I delect photocopy from photopea I am not getting black and white. I got black background with red border. Can u please suggest me how do I convert in black and white. Thankyou.

check your color swatches before applying the photocopy filter. the front color should be on black and the other one should be on white.

Hi Anna, when I follow your wonderful video step by step, I cannot find on Photopea any such thing as "effects, stroke, position to outside". I don't know where you are finding that. Maybe they have changed photopea since you made this video? There is no "Effects" option. Also, not clear on why I need pinetools since my image is already a .png. The photocopy option in photopea worked fine, but that's as far as I can get by following your video. Where do you go to clean up your edges, you skipped over that, like another viewer said. Thanks for your efforts to teach us, though.
Hi Denise, if you double click on the layer it will open up the "Layer Style" window just check off the stroke and where it says Position change it to outside. to answer your second question if you right click on magic wand tool (shortcut: W) and choose object selection you can select your object and remove the background check the 2:00 minute of blew video I explained how to remove the background on Photopea.

I have a question I’m hoping you can answer. I have several images that will work for my coloring book except I need to darken the outlines. Is there a free program that I can use to do that? Your help is appreciated.
Hi Diane you can try to select the outlines and then on select menu expand it maybe by 1 or 2 pixel and then fill it with your outline color this could work for some of the designs but unfortunately I don't know any website doing this

Thank you for making a tutorial on this topic and also focusing on doing it with free software. I have one question though. What if I want to create a silhouette of a shape and have the pattern outside of that shape? Is there a way to create a coloring page like this where the shape is a silhouette (no details on the inside) and the pattern surrounds it? How can I make the shape into a silhouette that stands out and then apply a pattern around it? I’m thinking the pattern around the silhouette can either fill the entire page or have its own shape, such as a flower filled with that pattern.
From what I understand, download the vector image of what you want to use and follow the technique she use in no 3 step to select each part of your image..the trick is to remove all the dark borders( changing the border colour to white so as to blend with your page paper. That way the part of want silhouette would pop out

i couldn't apply any of these steps I downloaded the same pic and press ctrl+shift+g and didn't ungroup the layers ...we need a slow one with steps for beginners, please ..it's great video thank you I wish it work with me too

Thanks for the amazing Video...! But one question about Edge Detection (At 4:20) my images edges r not working with stroke, While i click on stroke, whole images border filled with stroke but not the objects (File saved as PNG though) Any help would be appreciated.
Hi Shaer, this method will only work if you have a png (like video) otherwise you need to first remove the background and the apply the stroke like the cat image in this video : ua-cam.com/video/x6fPaBTr9V0/v-deo.html
Hello! Love the video and your focus upon using free software! Very beginner friendly! But when we go to photopea and select photocopy, our image turns red and black and we don't see how to make it be black and white. Do you know what we're doing wrong?
i had the same problem. did you solve the problem?
On the right go to channels and then pick 'red'. This will give you almost what you want. Then go to 'image' > 'adjustments' > 'invert' ///finished.

You give excellent information but you go very quickly in clicking all over the place and I cannot really see all the steps you are doing. If you can show me where you click with your mouse. It may seem very easy for you but for a newbie, it is difficult to see what you are doing. You need to make the action at the same time your click a little slower please. The little arrow is small and hard to follow and sometimes is hidden underneath the UA-cam symbols at the bottom of the screen.

It doesn't work as you show. I did everything the same in photopea and the background turned black. Besides, how did you add the background in gravity designer and where did you download it from?
I use Creative fabrica (bit.ly/creative_fabrica) for all of my designs and to use it on gravit designer just drag and drop it on you page.

I don't think people should make coloring books this way. They should make them with original art they created themselves. It's not that difficult. You can use an iPad and draw them with an apple pencil.

Hi Ben, to start you need an amazon account. then you can choose the niche you want to start with and then you need to create the interior as PDF and a cover (PDF) to upload it in KDP platform check out these two videos I demonstrate all three steps:

When I upload a coloring book to Kindle, does kindle upload the colors or do I upload the colors myself?
if you mean Kindle e-book, I don't recommend uploading a coloring book to kindle the user can't color in kindle they can just see your designs. this tutorial is for book that you want to upload as paperback which will be in black and white

Hi Costache bicu, IT's better to first resize your image and then apply the stroke this way you don't have to change the stroke again

At minute 3.25 you said that you would add a border to improve design.
How can we do that(add border to design) using Photopea ?

Hi Costache bicu, right now you are applying the stroke to entire image you need to remove the background first and then apply the stroke to flower. on the video my image is a PNG without any background. take a look at this video (ua-cam.com/video/x6fPaBTr9V0/v-deo.html) I'm showing how to remove the background and apply the stroke to the cat image.

Sorry Anna but i can t make it . At pine tools collected some viruses . I did not found detection but i relalized was Edge detection . The image i can t apply it . New layer click from ...here ....where???.....and in gravit designer i cant follow. No colours . I am very dissapointed . Probably you are payed to make adverts to some programs . Sorry

where is the photo copy filter you mentioned in photopea at the 4:09 minute mark?
On top menu go to filters>filter gallery >sketch > photocopy

The book you looked at was published by PENGUIN not Amazon ! Your whole premise is flawed. The paper in that book is quality paper, unlike that in Amazon colouring books.

Nice coloring book but that too much to be doing just to make a coloring book when there are templates out there that don't need editing. Very good if you want to spend more time trying to edit others photos.
