+magurofan Hmm...check then Vivaldi, the 4 seasons...really, speedmetal Baroque on violin, like speedmetal in the 80's. Sure that you can headbang on that. :-)
i don't know how many times i've seen this vid along with his other ones...but every time i re-watch it..it feels like my very first time...BRAVO JOE!!..ur music always makes me inspired! u seriously are a GENIUS at what you do...
This is tremendous. Most any song with cello accompianists is very entertaining. For any cellists viewing this movie, you can clearly see that even the accompanying cellists have rather difficult parts! Intense piece overall.
He not only has command over his piano, but also his companions, his music leaves you blinking with your mouth wide open, and just uttering words of amazement.
oh, my god~~The music is quite powerful. I am a tai-gi techer. When I hear the music, all the energe come from my body and make me dance. It is really incredible. Thank you for sharing!!
He really likes what he does, he smilies every time he plays, you can feel his passion. He is such a genius and so blessed with his talent. His music is full of soul just like himself. I've been enjoying his music for a long time, but not until recently have I seen his live performance. I'm even more impressed by his personality.
Even though I'm more than 40years younger than him, I still find his smile so incredibly captivating (after his no-less-than-extraordinary performance). ^^
i adore the start of this song the way his hands fly off the piano and then he is able to just jump right back in with the rest of the people is amazing
I love the starting. :) It felt so intense... like a force that was so big that it pushed him back! The composition totally fits the title, "Madness". I have said this so many times but I still have to say it! JOE HISAISHI IS A GENIUS!
whoa.. the beggininning when Joe smashed his fingers onto the keys of the piano was just awesome. i'd like to go see him perform one day. he's awesome.
"greatest composers EVER"...for you perhaps, let's not forget this kind of music is everything, a catalizer for "that" we are feeling inside of us....so, maybe it's just that you are really connected with this melody. Emotions don't think....why compare them...let's hear and joy.
He not only has command over his piano, but also his companions, his music leaves you blinking with your mouth wide open, and just uttering words of amazement. WHAT IS THE NAME OF THIS SONG?! I WANT TO PLAY ITT!
I'm not sure if it's the way post-production was executed, but for some reason the piano he uses has the best tone and clarity I have ever heard. Everything is crisp, the resonance is beautiful, and the way it works in *ahem* concert with the cellos is absolutely amazing. Any way of finding out what the maker is?
Well, 13 years late but since someone else might want to know, Hisaishi usually plays a Steinway Model D in his concerts and yes, it's one of the most beautiful pianos I've ever heard
woah! hisaishi is amazing at composing AND amazing at playing the piano! he's also amazing at sending shivers down people's spines :D this is awesome! and the cello players are really good too!
Wow An unexpected brilliant masterpiece by Joe Hisaishi. I love it though its much dif to his other pieces such as One Summer Day or Hana Bi. Amazing...
that was simply amazing it got my heart pounding like something was going to happen and at some point i relized i had gotten so caught up that i had stoped breathing that is how wonderful this man is
Best comment ever! This song was the last one I listened to while doing my homework.. First time I had heard the song and this was my though exactly haha!
Like my sister we're totally in love with this music and have get to know it after seeing the movie Howl's Moving Castle, what's a great story with beatiful imaging.
Someone, I forget who, said this about Jimi Hendrix: "He's the only man I know who can make his guitar talk." I think I've found the only man on Earth, now or ever, who can truly make his piano not only talk, but sing.
@skgt24 Great composer and a pretty darn amazing concert pianist as well. Most composers have more or less technical knowledge and capacity at the instrument. Very few perform at such a level also.
スリリングな曲調で各パートが真剣勝負って感じの緊張感がたまらん。
楽器の上手い人なら、この曲やるの最高に楽しいだろうな。
I can't even imagine how amazing this would have been to see live. So captivating.
Oh my gosh... It's not often you see someone like Hisaishi put so much raw emotion into music.
I've listened to this arrangement so many times and never get sick of it. So epic!!
Such an aggresive work, unlike most of his other work. Can this guy do just absolutely everything?!
Awesome.
Doesn't matter that its played on piano and cello, this is heavy metal!
+magurofan Hmm...check then Vivaldi, the 4 seasons...really, speedmetal Baroque on violin, like speedmetal in the 80's. Sure that you can headbang on that. :-)
+magurofan You would like the band 'Apocalyptica', they play metal on cellos.
All by by
When I hear that first chord strike, all that I can think of is:
"DAMN!"
i don't know how many times i've seen this vid along with his other ones...but every time i re-watch it..it feels like my very first time...BRAVO JOE!!..ur music always makes me inspired! u seriously are a GENIUS at what you do...
Coming back to this in 2022. Bravo Maestro Hisaishi!
Guess what it's 2024. :D
piano and cello, the two best instuments in the life
You forget the Viola... ;)
I actually prefer the erhu over the the violoncello, but piano is best.
Hahahahahahaha jokes on you, literally loled as i saw this
Yes! ❤️
Aurora zafra castaño jajajaj XD 😂

I love kids playing his music. But I adore HIM and his fingers....just thanks to him, I trained piano so hard.... just can't get enough..
途中のチェロめっちゃ好き
this is one of the most amazing pieces i have heard
the energy is just awesome
It's so awesome when you see him strike the keys to begin it all - particularly when you see how much energy he puts into it!
He really likes what he does, he smilies every time he plays, you can feel his passion. He is such a genius and so blessed with his talent. His music is full of soul just like himself. Wow! Really madness from the first drop of the note

this sounds amazing ... quite a refreshing change from all the sentimental pieces out there
Their body language helps get the mood of this piece across as well. All in all, it is amazing and Hisashi is indeed a musical genius.=)
i love when cellos go high up enough to sound like a violin or viola. its amazing how much you can do on the one instrument
His smile at the end is adorableeee. I love this, he's fantastic.
I love this song! It's amazingly composed, and so upbeat whilst still being dark enough to send shivers down my spine :D
i love how he's just so happy to be playing his music.
This piece will always be one of my favourites in life - LONG LIVE JOE!!
진짜 이게 제일 멋있다 한편의 추리소설을 읽는것처럼
긴장감의 기승전결이 아름답고 카리스마있는 느낌
Hisaishi should be nominated for a Nobel prize in music.
Simply Captivating. Joe Hisaishi + a piano + 9 cellos and THIS HAPPENS!!
I love the cello! It's so versatile *w*!
That is perfection!
Joe Hisaishi for WIN!
whoa.. the beggininning when Joe smashed his fingers onto the keys of the piano was just awesome. i'd like to go see him perform one day. he's awesome.
I love the powerful and natural arrangement of the cellos. It doesn't sound like 9 separate instruments. Great stuff!
this is a masterpiece of a song. This is a little gem I found when a friend of mine dropped a name. It bears repeating. This song is powerful.
His music always takes me to another world. Cellos are underrated too...
This piece has been forged from the fires of win and read straight off the book of pure epicness.
"greatest composers EVER"...for you perhaps, let's not forget this kind of music is everything, a catalizer for "that" we are feeling inside of us....so, maybe it's just that you are really connected with this melody.

I forget if I ever commented on this or not. If not, I will say now: Hisaishi has the Midas touch. Everything his fingers play is golden.
He not only has command over his piano, but also his companions, his music leaves you blinking with your mouth wide open, and just uttering words of amazement. WHAT IS THE NAME OF THIS SONG?! I WANT TO PLAY ITT!
This song sounds so freaky.
Great performance and for sure a great composer.
Thanks for sharing.
Kind of cool to see all the bows, of the cellos, move at the same time. Very good pianist as well :)
To know that true music still exists in this chaotic world. He is indeed an honourable man.
i didn't realize that my mouth was hanging open until the end, when the song ended and i shot my arms up yelling, "Woooo!"
i like this song :3
I don't know what sold me: the nine cellos, or Joe Hisaishi's name, but I am so glad that I clicked the link!
He is ef-ing insane!! WOW, im just blown awayyy...
this would actually make a good boss fight theme for an RPG.
Stuff like this should not have a dislike button. Seriously.
Just... Wow... SImply amazing. I just automatically started clapping my hands after they finished.
Joe Hisaishi is a legend.
this is amazing.
Just from hearing the first few notes, my heart jumped with excitement. This is amazing~!!!
I'm not sure if it's the way post-production was executed, but for some reason the piano he uses has the best tone and clarity I have ever heard. One of my favorite pieces by Joe Hisaishi. It accompanies beautifully that plane take-off scene in Porco Rosso.
i love the way he finishes!!
his orchestral arrangement of this song is amazing
absolutely brilliant. wish i was at that concert....
Just want to know how is the feeling when you're playing that in an orchestra ..
just awesome
I love how all the celloists are bobbing their heads, this song rox!
Definitivamente debe venir a Chile a dar conciertos.
Porco Rosso, favorite Nyaasaki film.
Awesome OST with the best interpretation of "Le temps des cerises" I've ever heard.
Madness...MADNESS???

Great song for a cellist and a pianist.
the guys on the cellos are badass too. such good timing...
woah! hisaishi is amazing at composing AND amazing at playing the piano! he's also amazing at sending shivers down people's spines :D this is awesome! and the cello players are really good too!
just that first note alone took my breath away
actually Joe Hisaishi is not liked by critics (who are obsesed with classical music), but who the hell cares about it? He's just awsome!
I'd love to go to his concerts!
exceptional pianist.
perfect title ! incredible music, these crazy loops so caracteristic of madness
its a rare thing to see/hear 9 cellos!!!

I really feel the madness Hisaishi wanted to show there. This man is a god :D
2:38 I like how he put the climax section with parallel fourth

Very impressive and inspirational to me.
as a learner of music.

An unexpected brilliant masterpiece by Joe Hisaishi.
I love it though its much dif to his other pieces such as One Summer Day or Hana Bi.
Amazing...
at the beginning it looks like Mr. Hisashi is being blown away by the impending awesomeness. True Story ;)
that was simply amazing it got my heart pounding like something was going to happen and at some point i relized i had gotten so caught up that i had stoped breathing that is how wonderful this man is
Best comment ever! This song was the last one I listened to while doing my homework.. First time I had heard the song and this was my though exactly haha!
Looks AWESOME widescreen with the &fmt=22 !!!
This never fails to entertain
so beautiful i almost cried.
My god. This is pure genius.
i love hisaishi's work
I absolutely LOVE this piece :)
I love how Hisaishi recoils from the first note. As if the awesome of his own music is too much for him to handle.
joe is freaking awesome.
Like my sister we're totally in love with this music and have get to know it after seeing the movie Howl's Moving Castle, what's a great story with beatiful imaging.
I agree, such power in his movements and music! i love it
He still is the greatest to me!!!! That was bad ass the moment he started!
Only a word: EPIC!
Someone, I forget who, said this about Jimi Hendrix: "He's the only man I know who can make his guitar talk."
I think I've found the only man on Earth, now or ever, who can truly make his piano not only talk, but sing.
What a Madness of song!
Hisaishi is the best composer of music i love their music ^^
@skgt24 Great composer and a pretty darn amazing concert pianist as well. Most composers have more or less technical knowledge and capacity at the instrument. Very few perform at such a level also.
Sure is madness, what a piece❤
Absolutely beautiful.
