I bought my 5.29’s for mine. Saving for the install price. I have the same size tires on my truck as well. When I get gears installed I will upgrade to 35’s.
They are totally worth it, especially on gen 3 and with 35's. I thought about going to 33's, but the size I like is only available in Mud terrain and I already have a 5th BFG 235 in the spare tire spot.
I'm running the same size tires on my 2.7 tacoma. have you noticed a fuel economy difference going to the 5.29's? im currently getting 17-19mpg. The truck cannot maintain speeds over 60-65 in 6th gear right now and is perpetually in 5th and bogging on the highway. I'm thinking 2500rpm in 6th might actually improve my mileage. the 4 cylinder is a pig
The fuel economy is about the same, maybe a little less at higher speeds since the rpm’s are higher and probably 1 Mog less around town since I rod on it more, way more peppy feeling. I had a 2015 with the 2.7 and the same tires last time. Not sure what the stock ratio is on your truck, 5.29 might be too aggressive, play around with a gearing calculator on line and see. I’m happy with my truck now.
It is about the same around town, but I started doing more freeways and I’ve been getting about 20.5 mpg commuting on the highway and averaging about 18.5 combined which is an improvement!

What gear set did you get? Revolution, Yukon, or Nitro?
Pretty sure they are Yukon, the fella at rears and gears had them on the shelf and said he has had good luck with their gears.

Have you got her tuned ?
No tune. I’m sure it could work, but it’s so much better with just the gears.
