Brings back fond memories of grand parents, simpler times, when they had less and so cared for and treasured their items. We do the same carefully wrapping each item. Thank You so much for showing This! I found myself emotional as I forgot about these decorations. Mom put stuff up in the attic and would take out little by little. Used to find lots of vintage decorations at Goodwill. Now days what's not pocketed by the store's management and employees ends up being auctioned off. Yard sales are still good though.
I really love the vintage decor of Christmas’ from long ago. My Mom was born in 1927 and for some reason, I like to imagine my Mom as a little girl admiring all the Christmas display windows in front of all the wonderful Department stores of yester year. 🎅🏻🌲

You hit he nail right on the head. This is why I collect vintage Halloween and Christmas decorations. They serve as time capsules. Vintage holiday decor takes you back to a simpler time when the world was different and people were different. It gives you those special memories just as you said.
I remember as a child in the 70s yes the 70s ...I would come home from school and the tree would be up in the window that said to me it was time to celebrate I never missed decorating it cuz that was alot of work I just loved seeing it in the window when I got off the bus from school
My mother had quite a similar collection spanning the 40's thru the 60's and she had a lot of ceramic Christmas trees. When she died all of it went directly in the trash. Nobody wanted any of it. Merry Christmas!

Ok, telling my age. I grew up with a lot of these things until my mom decided to get the newest artificial tree.... aluminum with pink balls and a rotating four color light wheel...ugh!
i have over 100 different versions of the book " 'Twas the Night Before Christmas. " some are antique, some are old, and some are contemporary. that's my Christmas addiction. :-)
@@bethanysin: i have some of the smallest ones stored in a home made mini hutch i bought at a second hand store years ago, and i have mostly larger ones in a wooden trunk. several new ones i've gotten the last couple of Christmases are displayed in a tall (but small in width) hutch. all of them are in my bedroom. i carry a list of the artists, the size, and the publishing date of many of them, but a few years ago i gave up keeping track as i rarely find old ones i don't already have or old ones i can afford to buy. now i mostly buy the new ones that are published and put out in stores each year. this year i got two new ones at Walmart, for example. the smallest one i have is about the size of a postage stamp, and the largest is probably a large format Golden Book. i'v thought of offering to loan them to a local library for display during December, but i have yet to look into doing that. :-)
@@nowvoyagerNE the library displays are so fun to see. A little boy shared his toy tractor collection and wrote his own copy on cards to explain and it was the sweetest.
I also have a collection of editions of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas in regular and miniature. I also collect Hallmark ornaments with that theme; a couple reference books on the poem. Over the years I did a library display at holiday time.
My niece collects all things "12 days of Christmas"! I collect all things Christmas. I tend to over decorate but what some people would call tacky, I call a buffet for my eyes! I love your video and have totally relaxed while watching it. My Sister-in-law collected the little NOEL figurines, I loved them. Most sadly, she passed away long before her time. This video sure made me think of her. Thank you.

When I decorate my house I always try to give it a Victorian theme with ornaments of carol singers, candles and autumn leaves with a Bible next to it with other little bits and bobs, my Christmas tree is the little fur tree that I bring in every year, I don't buy one. I always send Christmas cards and never send text messages, I just try to keep the old Christmases alive. To me it's so much nicer and cosier, so much better than now. 🌲🌲.
I just noticed the birdcage..my aunt had one.you wind it up and it cherps and moves..love the silver cookie cutters on the garland.I still have alot of my parents Christmas balls.. thank you for the memories!!

I could kick myself for not buying the Noel angels, a few year's back I used to get vintage Christmas, all the time but a lass it's getting harder and harder, I'm lucky to find 2 pieces in a year.

I also have “NOEL” candle holders, choir boys in fact. Every year I display them and every year my husband LEON rearranges them......now if I don’t put them out spelling LEON from the start, my grandchildren will rearrange them!
My daughter collects nativities. Many years ago she had 70-plus nativities on display in her home. While she was finishing the final touches on her Christmas Eve dinner, her two brothers decided to change all the baby Jesus figurines. She almost delayed her dinner to correct what they had done. Fantastic vintage Christmas collection. I saw many items in this video that reminded me of when I was very young and went to my grandma’s house during the holidays in the 70’s. She always decorated her house and she would let me and my sister help her. She had several items that you have in your video and brought back many memories. Thank you for that.
