Being a little boy in the 80s and 90s, i didn't get an opportunity to have a favorite Barbie. .. but there were a couple that i remember wanting badly. The first one was Wedding Day Midge. The second was Western Stampin' Tara Lynn.
Barbie has been everything in history from home maker to astronaut. Never has there been a thrift store / reseller Barbie. I think you should be the model.
I bought an 80’s plush My Little Pony for 50 cents at an estate sale fully intending to flip her for the 35-50 dollar sold/comps I was seeing. She was a bit dusty and need a light cleaning. I did that and started to take some pics but I decided her mane and tail needed some work. Several YT videos, some fabric softener, a few hair rollers, and two days later she looked fabulous. A little too fabulous. My step sister and I would regularly play G.I Joe/My Little Pony/Strawberry Short Cake/He-Man together. I didn’t really like the Shortcake figures but the MLP’s always made great battle steeds. I now I can’t sell the pony, I also regret nothing. Thanks for posting.
Barbie Dream Glow will always have a special place in my heart. Wish my mom would’ve bought two that Christmas. One to destroy and one to cherish in the box❤
Such a very cool video! When I was growing up in the 1960's, my mother thought Barbie was "too mature", so I had two Francie dolls that I loved & still have. ❤ ❤ ❤
I love the Christian Dior!!! but I mostly played with hot wheels with my brother or Dawn dolls they came with a 45 record and I loved the music and had a dance stage !!! Thank you for sharing.💕💕💕
i have that Christian Dior dress. Any time i want to put it on a doll, i have to sew it on. .. i've only put the dress on three dolls in about six years. 😅 i just reminded myself to sew snap buttons on that dress. i keep forgetting to do that.
Sooo pretty. Yes please show us your collection. I love Barbies, I still have mine from the 70s and 80s and just started a new collection of Barbies with disabilities and differences this summer.
Oh I love that! Barbie is the most inclusive you brand I'm aware of! I LOOVE the differences they magnify in such beautiful ways in their dolls. It opens so many conversations
I got winter wonder land barbie one year. Shes in storage , i forgot about her and my daughter reminded me i wouldnt let her take her out of her box. But i did and she came with a snow glob. Shes the prettest doll ever and no ones mentioned that one.
I enjoyed this wasn't into Barbie much as a child but if you take them out carefully they can always be boxed up again. I can't believe some of the detail I may have been into Barbie more if I'd had a brand new one that was complete. All mine were hideous horrible ragged hair, biro all over them and naked lol
Hi Rachel I loved Barbies too! Christopher is so thoughtful! I like the Christmas Barbies but was given a Malibu Barbie that was in mint condition and still have her! I thought Barbies were not worth anything anymore--are they? Also, you mentioned that your son does WhatNot without showing face. Could you do a video about that? I would like to get started and have small items and doing that way would be better. Thanks Rachel!
These are dillards. I get a lot from there on their clearance rack. $3 for so many colorful pairs I own. I often wear some that Jessy Shops made also. My most recent video I'm wearing blue and gold pterodactyls she made.
I wish I could show you a picture of my side eyed mannequin - rescued from a future fire at the end of last summer and she's been mean mugging me ever since! I guess because she needs a bath after being in a fire pit -- she lost her whole right arm and left hand... fiberglass mannequin I think and she totally needs a bath lol I thought the weather would handle that but it didn't! UA-cam needs to let us add pictures in the comments
@@RachelStrickland I can try to figure that out... I've been holding out, waiting for a name for myself but I like Sharon lol I mean sharing - I'm NOT instagram fluent so if I hashtag you somewhere maybe you'll get it?
Don't get me wrong, I love that these made you that happy, but I was worried about you decreasing the value of the dolls by unboxing them. But I just read a column on some site called Hobbylark that said that many collectors nowadays prefer them unboxed, or de-carded, and that the aging packaging material could actually damage the dolls because the packaging was never meant to last as long as the dolls and could start deteriorating, so do whatever makes you happy! 😀
You should collab with @caitconquers. She thrifts clothing an recreates or creates new fashion from the thrifted finds. It would be cool to see if she could recreate a Barbie dress for you (or create something new from thrifted clothing you find. Just an idea :)
What was your favorite Barbie as a child?
I’m a dude so I didn’t have a favorite Barbie. I did like the way her knees would crack. I’d pretend I was breaking her legs. 😆😆😆
Do u save the boxes for these.
I LOVED all my barbies. Still have them in the attic with clothes and accessories. I grew up in the 70's.

Have you seen the Barbie movie? They made a character around our raggedy barbies. She's called "weird barbie" and she's always in the splits. 😆
