That turn at the end nearly had me jumping out of my seat. WTF...
Yes. Look before you leap is a phrase that comes to mind.
Ye same 🤯
Maybe that's why she won't give it back haha
I know several people with a Mazda3, and they all report good things after several years of ownership. Excellent real-world review.
I really like her as a presenter, hope we see more of her
My head wanted an SUV, my heart wanted a sports car, my wallet only allows one purchase. Ended up with a mazda3 hatch :)
haha, exactly!
did you get the diesel?
Love this review, and love the presenter. Really engaging and a bit different to the usual 'normal' review.
Awesome review Rachael. Thanks for sharing!
fantastic review of a fantastic car...Mazda has really upped their game lately...the video host was very pleasant also..a pleasure to listen to.
Great review. After a lot of research, this car is at the top of my list. This definitely helped.
That's great to hear! And we think you'll be pretty happy with it too.
6:40 HOLY SHIT i thought you were gonna have a crash
you took a wide turn out from the driveway !
😂
In UK they drive on the left side of the road. :)
Ben Israel I know, but she almost creamed that vehicle as it went over the line
lol i thought the same
Love that you mentioned the seating position. Thanks 🙏
Had the 1st gen Mazda3 and it was a bit of a riot. A great driver's car and always a fun time, but never sloppy. It was very satisfying.
this car is on my short list to buy next weeks. Thank you for the great review!
great review. thanks for posting
I really like this Presenter, great review.
Had the 2.0 Skyactive HB.
Moved on to the 2.5 Skyactive HB.
Waiting for the 2.5 turbo Skyactive to sell in South America.
Excellent cars both.
Great fuel consumption for a 2.5
Of course, great review. Liked the professional, yet relaxed attitude.
I have a 2014 3. You can turn the speed camera warnings off
Thanks for the great and honest review Rachael.
I have just ordered a 2018 165 Sport Nav in Eternal Mica Blue w/sport black spoiler and mirrors with a stone leather interior, should be fun to see how the interior holds up with my nine year old sat in the back 😂
How has it been working out for you?
@@inthezone4123 the Mazda was a very good car for the two years I had it. Was decent on fuel, boot was plenty practical and was really nice to drive around Stockport and the park district where I live (went on numerous long trips some of the best was from Stockport to St Ives), wasn’t the quietest of cars on the motorway mind and the sound system could have done with an upgrade.
The stone leather didn’t hold up particularly well on the drivers seat though and that was despite very regular attention and use of leather treatment which was a shame as once the leather started warping the stone shade reeeeally highlighted it.
The car was traded in last year, initially I was going to trade for a mk4 Mazda 3 but I was left really disappointed after the test drives.
I now drive a 2020 2.0 Corolla GR Sport. 🙂
Brilliant presenter. Really enjoyed that.
Great review. Just putting it out there. You fine lady. I'm 6'8 and can't fit in almost any .car but just listening to you talk about the car makes me want to buy it.
Fantastic review!
You nearly wrote it off into the landrover at the end luv Pheeeeww!
Great review. I have the 3 fastback 2.2d in soul red.. comin to end of my lease - I'm in 2 minds wether to convert to hatchback or stick with saloon.. Gotta say I've been happy with it over last 3yrs but still find going into 2nd gear crunches..anybody else?.. contemplating focus/A3 saloon/skoda vrs.. or Leon. Heeeeeelp lol.
She’s gorgeous! Lovely review.
Gentle voice and the English pronunciation I tend to catch.
It was healed very much.
Nice review
really nice review of a lovely car
great review thanks
Good video good long review
She's legit cute, sophisticated and pleasant to listen to. Good presenter! And i like this car a lot!!!
Like this shade of grey! Looks stylish and classy. Machine grey, Dakota grey!
So should I get a Mazda 3 Touring or a vw golf se? The Mazda has upgraded headlights, full power driver seat, blind spot, forward collision assist, etc. the vw doesn’t have those and it’s a new 2017 not a new 2018 like the Mazda. The vw will be about 800 dollars cheaper though. I love them both but I need help in my decision!! Both also have upgraded fender/Bose sound systems with a sun roof.
Great review, great host.
Great video.
absolutely gorgeous!! and the car is not bad too!❤
Great video
for a long time i had my heart set on a mazda 6 wagoon but when i saw it it was huge, dude it is so big i was shocked when i was standing near it, from far away it looks normal but it is almost as long as a volvo v90 and its wider.
but i wanted it so bad for the 2.5 liter automatic engine and the rear seat warmers with the rear air vents.
it had everything i wanted and it looks beautiful but the size alone was enough to scare me, my favorite car ever is a 1999 toyota corolla and i loved that car to death, a truly beautiful tiny little car with an engine that just keeps running no matter how you treat it(the 1.3 version, the 1.6 is garbage compared to it) and the first car i ever drove, im almost in tears because i miss it so much, i would choose that car over any lambo or ferrari but anyway ever since then i never liked huge cars, aside from the corolla i had a volvo 760 s40 and a saab 9000 and those cars are not tiny but they are dwarfes compared to the mazda 6(the wagoon atleast because i havent seen the sedan)
but ever since the corolla i liked small cars and the mazda3 is perfect but what made want the 6 was as i said the rear vents and the set warmers however after a couple of months when i thought about it the mazda 6 would cost almost doubble per month was it worth doubble the price for some air vents and rear seat warmers and on top of that i would have to get around with that beast in a busy city?
and finally i decided no and im gonna go for a mazda3.
Twighlight - I know what you mean about falling in love with a car over one or two features and lusting for it despite the obvious impracticability. I adore the Volvo C30 coupe - and really want a D5 - 2.5 L engine and around 185bhp - but why I really want that model is the exhaust sound and the chrome twin exhaust pipes. I also love the rear of the car - that all glass tail gate is just gorgeous!! However, we have a dog and I think the boot is a bit small, and with the sloping roof she might get really hot in there. Also, the lack of doors could be an issue although we don't have any kids to worry about. So, after all that I think the Mazda 3 is the better choice.
Good, honest, no bullshit review. I've owned and driven quite a few Mazdas, and the latest 3 is a great car. The last 3 I had (2016) facelifted model) was a lemon, with electrical issues with the central locking and electric folding mirrors. But, lemon Mazdas are rare.
These days, I'm very content with my Mazda MX-5 RF 2 litre manual coupe.
If you have an attachment to that Mazda 3 example, make a deal with that dealer, and buy it off them, even by paying it off over time. Problem solved.
Keep the great reviews coming.
How is the road noise from the inside?
I assume the 2.5L petrol engine is not offered across the pond?
I really like her voice, good presenting too.
_I really like her voice, wouldn't say no too_ nice Juan
The Mazda 2.2 litre diesel is a very good engine, more suprising is the emmisions for this 2.2 litre are as low as an efficient 1.5 litre diesel. Only problem Mazda has is not enough dealers and they could increase warranty to increase sales eg as per Kia/ Hyundai. Mazda should look at this.
you can turn off the navigation command in the settings
Spinning the tires is a negative???
6:42 gave me a heart attack, Jesus. I drive on the right side of the road.
You know she is from the uk?
@@matthias4037
She still made a very wide turn and almost went into the opposing lane.
she's driving really well but it's just surprising when you're used to drive on the opposite side of the road :)@@Lucky8s
@@matthias4037 I think he means the correct side
@@Lucky8s She DID go into the opposite (right) lane, watch it closely just before the video transition. I think she wanted to overtake the red car right away.
Nice review, almost crashes at the end of video 😂
Great car but very expensive in Uk. Charging for metallic colours must be UK only as the Soul Red is the only optional colour here and should be negotiable (ie free)
4:10 Wow what car is that on the right?
I liked you did good and bad points instead of coating everything with sugar that most reviews do
when she backed up, only the left rear back up light was operational, is that how it is in Europe? or was it a dead bulb?
hawaiiguy1 that’s how they are here.
I like the white
What about the cabin noise?
Much prefer the petrol 165 version. Sounds way better when heavy footed and with the way UK government is changing their tones with diesels I would steer well away!
Love Cars - difficult to justify the higher CO2 emissions of the bigger petrol engines as well as the lower MPGs. A diesel that does 60 - 70 MPG and has a DPF is a far cleaner car than a similar sized petrol - no matter what the government says. Only option for cleaner/cheaper petrols are these newish Ford 3 cylinder 1L engines, or hybrids if you can afford one.
does the Mazda 3 get iactivesense radar cruise control?
Yes. All current Mazda models has option for radar cruise control except the Mazda 2.
Guys please be careful if you buy the manual Mazda SP25 Astina, I got a brand new one last year and I was not happy with the transmission. Changing gears NOT smooth as a new car should be. To make matters worse, on the 3rd gear, the shifter vibrates heavily when I accelerate and you can hear the vibration which ruins the whole driving experience. Mazda confirms this is normal. I have complained to ACCC and Victoria Consumer Affairs. They gave me instructions on how to deal with Mazda from now and will support me in forcing Mazda to fix the issue.
6:41
Lol, what an pull out angle...
Mazda needs to sell the cx4 in the UK ie SUV based on the 3
6:41 oh NOOO
If those are the 5 things you dislike about the car it must be a really great one and boy o boy do you brits really love the diesel engine, I mean most of the british reviewers always praise the 2.2 diesel, hell, even the germans don't like it that much and they invented it :)
Her voice is so soft and girly! So delicate. This is how girlies should be!
Loved this review, although it seemed like you were digging deep to find some dislikes. And man I cringed at you almost crashing there at the end. Whew!
Thought you were going to prang that 4x4 at the end, lol
Is this where Doug works at?
Duh most cars would have wheel spin if you floor the throttle right at the the start!
Passenger backup light out at 3:33
Bryan Krejcarek Like a lot of cars, it only has one reversing light. The other side has a fog light.
Oh wow! I didnt know that!. Thanks!
shes on drive tribe/food tribe now!
3:53 - shape isn't too bad from my perspective...
Yes I was examining it too 😬
Almost hit that truck at the end.
I LIVE IN THE PEAK DISTRICT
UPDATE: SHE LIED SHE DOSENT LIVE IN THE PEAK DISTRICT SHE LIVES IN ROUGH MACCLESFIELD WHICH ISNT IN THE PEAK DISTRICT STUPID WOMAN
The UK and US obviously have very different views as far as power goes. A dislike that you can break tires loose and stating that the car is "pretty fast" with a 8.1s time, meanwhile US reviews state how the car is one of the slowest cars reviewed.
@@2595220 - there are plenty of five cylinder cars available over here - Volvo developed one and used it as far back as the C30 for their larger engines. Also, I don't think the difference in reviewing is a UK/US thing, rather it is about the type of review being done. I have read a review of the Mazda 3 by a UK website (not sure which one) that stated that the petrol engines are gutless and thirsty, and that the Volvo C30 D5 - with a 2.5 L engine and 185 bhp and 0-60 in around 7 secs is sluggish. It seems to depend upon whether a car is reviewed as an every day work horse or a piece of entertainment. Also, the US obsession with big engines that are inefficient is destroying the world.
Thank you for the review, I am thinking of buying a Mazda 3. Take no notice of the childish and immature individuals on here, it was a great review!
Is it me? Why does Mazda think that it is ok not to have a DAB radio!
But it does, in Germany there are 4 trim lvls and DAB radio starts as an option from the second trim lvl and it's standard on 3rd and 4th. Now if you say most cars in it's class have it from the lowest entry lvl as a default then ... you have a point, as probably a lot of ppl don't know that Norway for example completely scrapped analogue radio starting this year with probably more to follow soon.
Holy Shit at 6:40 I thought she would crash it into the other car.
That was actually very close! 😂
I really like how white and soft she is!
She is beautiful
Do you write that under guy's cars reviews also?
You need to get out more
And she use a manual car
@@mplabs23 Probably not as he's likely not a homosexual.
@@baubaleenait's called observation
Beautiful car, beautiful girl
Dislike - Small Gas Tank, Loud Interior Noise, backwards tip shifting compared to other vehicles, nav system could be more intuitive, radio station display, somewhat odd layout of buttons.
Decent review way better than the woman from What car
Does it have android auto?
It is a direct rival to SEAT Leon
I’m trading in a 66 plate Leon for a 67 Mazda 3. Having just had the test drive, there is no comparison between them. As much as I like the Leon (a change of job to one locally forces getting rid of the diesel), the Mazda is far superior in every way except performance.
THICCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC
No Apple CarPlay though? Really?
You can install that for a couple hundred
I think your right reverse light is burnt. 3:31
that's by design, left side has the reverse light, right side has the rear fog lamp. It's odd, because the US model has two rev lights and the fog light is ...well, somewhere else I guess. It must be a EU legislation thingy since a lot of cars around here have this asymmetric setup.
Ioan Dragulescu Oh wow that's strange. Had no idea. Thanks for letting me know!

yeah ngl Rachael Hogg is a treasure, she could sell me a Renault eventho I hate French cars.
Only if she comes with the car
Pretty sure it's not a saloon
Yes, you are right. title has been updated.
I have the saloon shape. It’s slightly more aerodynamic so has cheaper tax and better mpg. And the boot is a fair bit larger over the hatchback. But the main reason is it’s just looks a lot better in the fastback shape. Nice review. Also you can turn off the annoying speed camera warning’s and customise the sat nav options.
52 MPG ... :(
Shape isn't perfect.
only if it were rwd!!!
I'm a simple man..
Horse and rider
Love her voice. That’s what a wife should sound like!
is she married !
ill be your noble steed and you can ride me NEEEEYYYYYY
Did she mean '1.2 petrol with 118', instead of 2.0 petrol - that's an awful specific output for nowadays. And no one buys a 2.0 petrol in a normal car
Haedyn Johnson Read a bit more about Skyactiv-G tech. Naturally aspirated 2.0l engine delivering around 43mpg urban cycle sounds much better then strained 1.2 Turbo(ecoboosts,Tsi and rest of them) Lawn mower with same mpg.
Sweet girl but you need to work on your articulation luv. You sound like a 5-year-old school girl
Meni Fo - wow you must know some really amazing 5 year olds. I didn't notice anything wrong with her articulation BTW - I understood every word she said and I have bad hearing.
Lol what a load of crap this review was .. the negatives were ridiculous. Great car
7000 miles is NOT A LONG TERM TEST!! What a joke.
You'd be surprised to see that many European cars show trouble at 2-3k miles!
Steve Franklion - yes it is - the average yearly mileage is considered to be between 8-10k - so 7k represents a good chunk of a year's motoring - plenty of time and miles to adequately assess a car. If you are looking for stats about long term reliability then go to a site that does that type of thing - this is a review of what a car is like to drive and own.
Quite girly one. Look at the hips!
I was more focused on the front to be honest
Gawd, 'half a year', another horrible Americanism enters the English language. Other than that, she's got to be one of the hottest presenters I've ever seen on UA-cam! Nice car too!
How is that an Americanism?
