  • “She burns like petrol soaked paper and fireworks” ... I have been obsessed with Foy Vance for a few years now. His songs are generally written around themes that I relate to and are amazing in that they are raw and honest and lyrically poetic! Listening to this song inspires me to write better! This is a one take audio and video recorded live in Toowoomba Queensland.

Nice cover. The respect, emotion & love show in your performance.
"“She burns like petrol soaked paper and fireworks” ... I have been obsessed with Foy Vance for a few years now. His songs are generally written around themes that I relate to and are amazing in that they are raw and honest and lyrically poetic!" Thanks for summing up some of my thoughts precisely. This album was my first exposure to Foy. I haven't stopped listening to him since.
Two, perhaps, meaningless bits of trivia here: He recorded an album here in where I live in Tennessee and several of my music community friends performed with him. And 2nd, the actress in the official video for this song (Lucy Hale) was one of my voice students from when she was 11-13. She is an incredibly talented and soulful singer as well (with the right material, not the overtly commercial crap she's been limited to by 'industry 'know its') and I hope someday she has success with that in addition to her acting career.
Like I said, prolly meaningless to anyone but me but it brings me much joy to see the "6 degrees of separation" thing 'in action'.
Again, REALLY nice cover of this. The best I've seen online so far. And I agree with the comment below/above from Ian, "...30 seconds in and my first thought was, 'nailed it'." More music please.

    I love Foy.
I got to 30 seconds in and my first thought was, "nailed it"! Great cover mate, kept it simple, true to the original, good vocal and nice playing.

Ian THANKS MATE! Yeah I always knew I wanted to cover it... originally I was gonna do this thing where he has a playing card kinda muting some strings to make a percussive sound... didn’t work on the day...
