I think you are interpreting velocity as acceleration. The velocity of the bucket would be the 5ft/6s. That would be a constant. It is not accelerating at 5/6 ft/s^2
The endvelocity is number of peasants*5ft/6sec. The velocity is not constant, it starts at 0 and ends up at the number you get from the formula above. The acceleration would be v(final)/t (since v(start)=0). a=number of peasants*5ft/36 sec² Fun fact: This would probably rip the poor peasants' arms off. So don't try this at home!
