    A good place to donate good conditioned items are women’s shelters. A lot of women leave their homes without taking any home items, clothes, toys, kitchen goods etc. if you do not know how to contact them try your local council, social workers

      Thank you, I'm so glad you enjoy the videos, good idea with buying separate pieces and good choice with the blue Maison, it's such a beautiful look. I loved my blue plates from Ikea but found that when taking pictures of food I dished up, the food didn't stand out most of the time against the dark colour and I missed having everything matching.
      I agree, Kmart does a fabulous job out of the retailers available to us here in providing a good variety of items at an affordable price.
      Lucky you living in Nth QLD, my husband just returned from Cairns for business and he said everyone was wearing shorts 😍😘😘

    Yes, when going through menopause, LAYERS!! are your best friend, peel them off, put them on!! After the hot flushes finished, I had to go buy all new thick warm jumpers, as none of what I had then were warm enough (once the fire goes out!!)..so don't toss All your jumpers!!! Suddenly, youre freezing!!!😂😂

    Hello lovely, I’m still have hot flushes at the age of 67 🤪 only letting you know that. Shopping centres are warm also we are walking around. I have the dinner set you picked up with the large bowls, I bought 8 of everything and they have cups. I didn’t buy yours because I wanted to check everyone of them before coming home lol. Love the cats 🐱 how funny big bone Alaska was 😅 love them.

      Noooo They've literally just started about a month ago and I'm already over them!!! At first I didn't recognise them as hot flushes, but now they're happening a number of times a day and night! I've started Googling supplements that can assist, and I've just ordered some, should be coming tomorrow. Fingers crossed they work.
      LOL Alaska is so precious, she's our little marshmallow, so timid but when she hears plates she's the first in the door and the only cat to clean her plate, and everyone else's too 😝 She's a rescue and she came running when we offered her food as a stray and she's been making up for lack of food ever since, but I can't put her on a diet, because she's the only one that has difficulty controlling her food intake and she's too adorable 😍😍

    Oh the bane of hot flashes! It is better to layer clothes, your idea of a cotton or linen shirt with a coat over it works very well. If you don’t mind me asking are you experiencing any skin or hair issues, my hair which is naturally curly has become super frizzy and my skin, where do I start, dry, psoriasis spots. Please share any things that work. Thanks for your videos.

      Hi lovely, thank you for the advice, yes, I will have to start wearing layers from now on when I go out. I've literally only started experiencing hot flushes in the last month and I don't like them!!! They wake me up in the middle of the night, no respite during the day either, one minute I'm sitting under an electric blanket while I'm working at my desk and the next I'm suddenly melting!! I used to be the first one in my household to turn on the heater in the morning, now I'm asking if there's a need to turn it on at all 😝😝 My husband used to comment on the sauna that was our house, now he's complaining it's too cold - can't please him 😂😂
      I will discuss it in future videos. So far, hot flushes are the only noticeable symptoms apart from slowed metabolism 😫

      Hi lovely. I am 46 and i think i'm in full blown menopause. My hot flushes come on suddenly and only last a minute or so then go. I too am having these weird dry spots on my legs. And some itchiness. I have been getting breakouts on my face around my jawline and dont get me started on my hair. My hair is long and dark and it is thinning dramatically. I am finding my hair everywhere and it is so upsetting and annoying. I have no idea who to talk to about these problems and i'm not sure if i should go on HRT. I have a history of breast cancer in my family and im worried about going on HRT. I also am suffering bigtime from insomnia. The joys of getting older. Not a fun time.

    Thank you for your video a few months ago re the Kmart Frother. Now that its colder, the kids and I are using it daily for hot chocolates, yum!! 😋☕️
    My naturopath put me on Zinc and Magnesium supplements based on my perimenopause symptoms including hot flushes, mainly at night, and they have now stopped.

    • @Deborahafter50
      @Deborahafter50  4 місяці тому

      Thank you for the advice re zinc and magnesium, I used to see a naturopath many years ago and it sounds like I should go back for a re visit. I definitely don't like then at night as they wake me up!! 😅
      The frother is great for hot and cold drinks it makes great froth with cold milk too, but definitely hot chocolate is divine with it.
      Re the cupboards, so far so good, I believe I removed more dishes than I replaced so hopefully it's lighter overall 😅😘😘

    I'm not a cat person due to my chronic allergies to them but I think the puppies look adorable. How old is Coco - soooo cute. I have a cavoodle fur baby called Roxy. She is 13 years old and would look adorable in that coat but she is a tiny little thing....probably smaller than your cats lol. I also started grooming my own dog during covid. I have definately got my money back on the clippers. I thought the hot flushes would end after menopause but unfortunately for me they have continued. I have heard that low dose estrogen can help but I haven't pursued any HRT. I am going to try red clover.

    • @Deborahafter50
      @Deborahafter50  4 місяці тому

      Hi lovely, Koko is 14 years old, we got her for Mother's' day 14 years ago and she's the best! So loving and caring, but she is getting old and now spends a lot of time sleeping or resting on someone's lap. Though if she sees her leash, she forgets she's old and sprints for the great outdoors 😄
      The jumper comes in small also, the two I bought were. medium and fit both of my dogs well, though Koko was at capacity stretch and Daisy a little loose 😂
      What clippers did you get? Asking for a friend 😉
      From what everyone is saying in this video, hot flushes have a length determined by nothing and noone 🙄.
      There has been one mention so far of HRT in this video with success, I'm still new at this and though I've started with hot flushes, they're not disrupting my routine severely yet, so I'll try supplements and see if they do anything and maybe leave HRT for when it gets really bad... 🤷🏼‍♀️ hard to decide isn't it?
      I haven't heard about red clover...I'll ask Dr Google about it, thanks for the tip 😘😘

    I've completely stopped buying sweaters in the last few years. I only buy blazers or casual jackets with a zipper. I'm forever taking my casual jacket off an on in the house. It's crazy how much I have to take my jacket off an on lol. I had just bought several cashmere sweaters not that long ago and I never wear them.

    • @Deborahafter50
      @Deborahafter50  3 місяці тому

      I can relate! It's so much more convenient to have blazers and casual jackets at this stage in life. They're definitely versatile and practical. It's funny how our preferences change due to the change in life.
      Oh no, what a pity about your cashmere sweaters, I've been told that flushes don't always last many years, hopefully this is the case for you so you can look forward to enjoying them soon. Thanks for sharing your experience! 😚😚

  • @W3ndyPearc3

    With hot flushes, wear thin layers in natural materials, you can then peal off as you flush, then put it back on again when the flush ends. I also used to have a paper fan and wet wipes for really bad sweats....But don't worry it only lasts for a few years 😂

    • @Deborahafter50
      @Deborahafter50  4 місяці тому +1

      LOL thank you, I've started experiencing them for the last month and that's one month too long 😂😂
      At first it was just short little ones that I didn't pay much attention to, but now they're getting a little longer and more intense and more "regular" and I've just received an Ultrahuman ring that monitors my sleep and temperature among other things and I've noticed the interrupted sleep and how often my temperature rises during my sleep. I used to think it was the pets waking me up but it's actually the rise in temperature.
      So now I'm researching supplements to take in an attempt to manage these, plus changing my outfits, it's funny, as I'm sitting here typing, I've had to remove my dressing gown due to a hot flush and the house is a balmy 12 degrees 🤣🤣
      Have a fabulous day and thanks for the tips of the fan and wet wipes, I'm off to the shops later and will add these to my list 😘😘

      Noooo 😖 that's so annoying!!! Yes that is frustrating, maybe they’ll bring the extras out separately like they have with the blue Mason plates 🤞they have the matching cups, but yes, it’s annoying when they don’t do a full set even if only to sell them individually so if people don’t want them they don’t have to buy them but if like us who may want extras there’s an option 🤷🏻‍♀️

    Kmart do have some nice stuff but I’m reluctant to buy anything from there. I find the quality really isn’t great and it doesn’t last. Kids clothes are great because they’re reasonably priced and kids grow too quick to wear them year after year. I do buy dog toys because my dog chews them and they’re cheap. Apart from that I prefer to shop elsewhere.

    • @Deborahafter50

      @@Deborahafter50 I like TK Maxx. They have some really nice clothes and home wears at reasonable prices. Obviously they don’t have an item of clothing in every size but they do have a range of different items. And No hot flushes for this little duck 😊 just some food for thought...Btw my sister who is 12 yrs older than me & her era was to suck it up as its a natural process , missed the boat & at 73 is still suffering..The joys of being a women..Thank goodness we have the available resources at our finger tips now & Kmart to cheer us up 😅😅 Much love ❤

      Thank you lovely for your sound advice, you're right there are so many opinions out there it's difficult to find the honest and valid ones.
      I'm looking into supplements at the moment and see how they work. I'm only new to menopause and actually thought I'd been lucky and bypassed the hot flushes 😂😂
      So it's all new territory for me.
      Sounds like HRT has worked for you, I'll look into this and speak to my GP soon to get more tests done, last year when I did blood tests there was no evidence of menopause even though my periods had stopped 🤷🏼‍♀️ but she did say that evidence would take a while...😘😘

      It may mean going through numerous drs to find one who understands you , your body & what your desired long term management looks like for you..Most drs unfortunately have only had 1 to 3 Hrs on this subject over their years of medical study & some are still stuck in the caveman days.

Thank You for another great video 😍I'm 56 and experiencing hot flushes as well, especially at night when one moment i'm fine, the next all the covers get kicked off 😂I went to see a natural path a couple of months away, she was amazing made up a tonic with Natural herbs it has helped in reducing the hot flushes. Go easy on sugar and alcohol. You are so right as Italian background these things were not spoken of. I have boys and they know of my menopause so one day they can support their wives. 😊Best tip when dressing, Nature fabrics . I have been wearing cotton camisoles/tank tops they are comfy and good for the skin. Your fur babies are so adorable.
