Just heard the interview with you on the Picky Fingers Banjo Podcast. What a great interview! New inspiration to 1) do on the banjo what only the banjo can do and 2) to play solidly within my ability so my playing is confident and clear.

Another nice one Eli - I actually got them all just by listening apart from the C# : I thought that was F# - and this was without an instrument in my hand! - my ears must work better than I thought!! I will admit that I got the last one as the 2nd fret first string rather than where you played it…..
    Looking forward to more
Many thanks for all of your videos

when I was a kid learning Scruggs' stuff I got to a point I could tell say like if he was hitting the first string open, or the second string on the third fret. or third string on the 7th, I just got to a point I could tell by the tone of his banjo! my God that was 60 years ago! lol

Been doing the 30 days banjo tutorial. I gotta tell you, you're either got very good teaching methods or learning the banjo is just surprisingly easy.

I'm not a skilled or even somewhat of musician yet. However playing other folk's tablature isn't only wasting my time because I'm not learning anything but to memorize tab and that's not my objective. My goal is to write my own lyrics and music. So tonight I put other folk's tab aside and I'm starting to starting study banjo music theory preparing to make music to a song about my wonderful wife that I'm writing. I will accomplish my goal!

Great idea! Whenever a tab is available it's too tempting for me to not look at it. I hope that after finishing the series I'll be able to resist the temptation...

    Any more lessons?
I'm learning to play what tune I have in the head. And anything on who that's best done is helpful.

Wonderful lesson, Eli! I always had played by ear, until one day some stranger said that using my fingers would be a lot simpler! (Banjo humor: the type that one does not laugh at). Hope to see you soon!?
