I noticed System Collapse was harder to follow if the previous book was not fresh in your mind anymore as it picked up where Network Effect stopped. I will have to listen to it again, to fully comprehend everything. I laso felt his trauma made it harder too follow and less enjoyable than previous books. Although that might have been me in a not perfect mental space when it came out. Still enjoying the series though. I just recently started on the Wayward Children and am just flying through the audiobooks. I find them very easy to listen to and fast paced.
I ended up binging The Expanse TV series last year and believe me, I was as surprised as anyone else. I decided to read the first book, and although I did loved getting to go back to the universe, I think the first book is quite tame compared to where the story goes. And a lot of amazing characters come in later on so I would suggest to stick with it.
my favourite character in the show doesn't even appear in the books in the same way apparently but I'm determined to keep going with the books as I've heard they get better with each one! 😊
I thought I would love the MurderBot series but I DNF'd the first book. I do like the Wayward Children's series and think I read the Leviathan Wakes series as a teen. Today I started "The Singing Hills Cycle" and I love it.
It is the story of a lower level wife of an emperor who is outcast but through the help of fortune tellers seeks revenge. First book is only 2.5 hours so absolutely worth a listen.@@JoshsBookishVoyage
Haha I filmed this like right after New years. I just had other video ideas take precedent. And I'm trying to set a hard rule for myself *not* to try and post more than once a week bc I just don't have the time for that. So now here we are in mid Feb with a video from over a month ago.
