Hi Frank. I'm really happy with the bench. Structurally, it's solid with no movement or noises. The leather is more comfortable for me than the vinyl. The vinyl was too squishy feeling, like a sponge. I didn't like the feeling of sinking into it. The leather is a thicker material and doesn't have as much flexibility as the vinyl. Therefore, the overall feeling is more firm. It's still comfortable, but you don't get the feeling of sinking into, but rather, you're sitting more on top of it. I would not have been happy with the vinyl, but the leather is very satisfying in terms of comfort. Also, bonuses are that the leather looks better, and feels better to the touch. I also think it will wear better than the vinyl as well. Leather develops a nice patina with use. The leather upgrade was an extra $140 and I think it was well worth it. Thank you for the question.
