I actually did manage to teach myself how to do this with advice Anna-Maria gave during a TED Talk, I think... she just said something like practice singing from "eee" and transitioning to "ooo" and do it slower and slower each time until you find the spots where the not geta louder. Everyday during the 1st few months of 2020 I spent singing and chanting for hours and I made progress. I still lesrn and notice new things when I have a chanting session kind of day. And for tgis, I thank you Anna-Maria. It has been life changing. I like the sound of my own voice now. And I'm not as afraid as I once wasbto sing solo in front of people and have done it a few times since. I even went live on instagram. Could of times and chanted. The overtones can come out really loud through a didgeridoo which creates an interesting filter to the overtones. I love doing it in my washroom with the door closed. It becomes a resonance chamber. Also, at first I couldn't hear the overtones that well, so I borrowed a megaphone from a friend and I would set it to maybe 4 or 5/10 Volume and that really helped me become aware of where that special spot was to sing from.

I am so stunned by this type of singing. I am a fan of Tuvan throat singing. I think that is how I found Anna-Maria many years ago. It's mesmerising to me.

It’s not THAT she can do it that’s cool to me, it’s her control over the overtone and, more impressively, the fundamental that’s so insane. She controls them independently so effortlessly. It’s like being able to look only down with one eye and left to right with the other(at least to me). My overtone control is okay by her musicality is insane
