I'm not saying it's off the table but I would trust it more if the experts could confidently say they mapped out at least 10% of the human genome, but correct me if I'm wrong but last known study declared it was at roughly 00.00001% however I don't know an authentic analysis or if it was a ploy for more research grants, (the study I'm using as a reference is the one that was used injunction with the defence of continuing research in stim cell research a decade prior. Whether that adds weight to the argument or denounces it I know not. Another example would be what if continuous tampering would destabilizing causeed after-birth defects such as inducing a genetic sequence to ensure your child grows 6 feet tall but as a result of tampering he developes a brittle bones, sure with further testing they can prevent that from happening, but there will always be someone a bit too eager before a Fondation can be properly established not to mention the first child that will bare the brunt of persecution of being the first "lab grown baby" will he be treated as a lab rat by the populace, with current stigma of being perceived by one's peers injunctioned with the escalating (self bubbling) rates unless something is done about it first it isn't so much a matter of will new life being born but new life choosing willing to live in such a life... tldr: science is cruel,safety is a lie, and at the end of every we all dye.

The Jedi had no reason to cover this event up. The fire wasn’t set by them, the witches attacked after the Jedi tried to deescalate the situation, and children were believed to be (and actually were) in trouble. Nothing about this paints the Jedi in the wrong.

Episode 7 in a nutshell:
1. So why did Old baby Jedi end himself? Over nothing?
2. Power of many is literally useless, to the point where Trinity solos all of them. So 1 > Many.
3. The powerful Sith Matriarchy crumbles into dust, like a fart in the wind.
According to "feminist anthropologists" point 3 is an accurate representation of what happens in the real world when a matriarchy makes contact with a patriarchy.
Also, women like to provoke heavily armed law enforcement by being aggressive yet pretend they're just peaceful. The fact it was a black woman, after the BLM riots, is just icing on the cake.
I love how incredibly unaware the 'writers' for the show are regarding point 2.

"The Jedi make mistakes." Is that news that shocks the galaxy? One would think Disney, of all places, would know that no organization is perfect and that the interesting stories are how good people overcome their own or their organizations limitations to achieve greatness.
Nevermind the fact this was already HEAVILY explored in the prequels and in the clone wars already and done much better. I hate this gas lighting that the directors and creators of Disney has made up in their mind that this hasn't been explored yet and that this is like groundbreaking and interesting. Um no ashoka in the clone wars was wrongly accused of something she did not do and the Jedi looked powerless against the political machine that was the senate. Also never forget anakin was snubbed on having a seat at the council even though one could clearly see he did deserve it. Or how about the fact that Anakin killed Dooku and obi wan while upset didn't really do anything.

Maybe on some level Smilo Ren is not just a mockery, but a lament that he didnt get to be his own character in a more unique and gripping story that utilized his acting talents, beyond just his physical presence.

the crazy thing is that Disney as an organization has not mapped out the overall direction of the Star wars expanded universe but instead they are letting the creators of each individual project make the decisions in a vacuum
Which is insane to me, since Marvel Studios (also owned by Disney) has always appeared to have (at least) a rough outline of where they're going with the MCU, and leave themselves enough wiggle room for changes later down the line.
Lucasfilm just doesn't seem to have any direction at all since it has been bought by Disney. Every Star Wars project seems so scattered, and nothing has any real direction or goal. It's like they're throwing random ingredients (aka the directors/showrunners/script writers/etc.) into a pot and hoping whatever comes out is edible.
At least it gave us Andor with Tony Gilroy

Glad someone else FINALLY noticed how nearly every movie featuring a black actor has to have Rap or Hip Hop all over it. Moonlight was 1 of the only movies featuring all black actors that went with an orchestral score and it was a great. Looking forward to Denzel in this movie he's 1 of my faves. I love Hip Hop but don't need it to promote a historical epic or Sci Fi. You KNOW that's why the latest STAR WARS series had RnB on the credits. RIP John Williams...

So, if the planet was wiped out 100 years prior, I have to assume that cult is very recent. That amount of time doesnt seem like that long with some species living as long as they have. Who owned that building? The place had power. Im sure some conglomerate would notice one of their facilities is inexplicably online.
I haven't read the High Republic stuff, but iirc the planet was devastated by a hyperspace catastrophe, which I can only assume would result in a nuclear winter-ish extinction event. If the planet is uninhabitable, it makes sense that companies would abandon even surviving structures. Especially if it's, say, an old power station, which would only be of use to a resident populace.
Again, I'm not sure this is the correct explanation (and my understanding is that the hyperspace event is lore-breaking in and of itself), nor is it adequately explained imo. But that would be a minor complaint, and something easily handwaved with a line in a following season or whatever.
The bigger question is what prevented and/or caused the revivification of the planet. How fast is the planet recovering? Why couldn't it recover naturally? Did the witches cause the vergence, or come here because of it? Etc.
I like how he's homesick when Couruscant is like a 20 minute jump through hyperspace. (They mention this IN THIS SHOW FFS!)They could've just commuted there every day.
Imagine if Leslie had seen Vantage Point, a movie where you see the same event from multiple angles, but you learn new information and a change to the narrative every time the point of view resets. Maybe they could have actually executed ONE payoff for ONE setup.
Apparently Anasaya (however you spell it) wasn't disintegrating Mae, but "shrouding"/"covering" her. I'm not sure if that's an _immediate_ retcon from Leslie or if they sent the effects guys the wrong notes, because that absolutely does not look like Mae is being 'covered' by anything.
There is no way that's not an emergency retcon. Literally everyone who saw this episode said "Oh so the Jedi were completely justified then." And she's freaking out about it.

I kinda like the idea of a legitimately harmless Darth Tim. He draws power from his emotions, but they’re just curmudgeonly grumblings. The worst he does is telekinetically dope-slap the milkman when he’s late and mutter the kind of things great-uncles do when drunk at thanksgiving. A jedi strike team shows up to stop his evil, only to be regaled with pointless stories and bad hard candy until they make an excuse to leave.

1:50:34 just a quick fact check on drinker: Recently been to rome and hade a very detailed guided tour of the coliseum. They never filled it with water for naval battles - specially built theatres in other places were dedicated for naval battles.
Gladiators rarely died as they were very expensive to train and would take years to replace - they were more like WWE super stars - their fights were highly choreographed, for very special events there may have been fights to the death if their performance's were not up to scratch. If a gladiator was killed, the owner / handler had to be compensated handsomely.
Most of the deaths were from criminal executions which was a major part of the spectacle.

As a follow-up on my comment at 2:28:12 , I'm so annoyed that the perspective of almost all of the aliens in Star Wars are just "Humans". Hera Syndulla is just a green human with stuff on her head. Ahsoka is just an orange human with stuff on her head. Vernestra is just a human *without* anything on her head. And all the humans come from the same place. Even in America, different parts of the country/state give you different perspectives. Now imagine MULTIPLE PLANETS.
In Star Trek, the Klingons, Romulans, Vulcans, Borg... all these mainstay races have clearly defined things that influence their culture, and set them apart and that's where the interesting interactions when they meet with humans. There's so much you could do with characterization when you just tweak a few variables and see what shakes out.
How does a race that has a lifespan of 30 years act vs. Humans? A race that lives 300 years? Wookies are naturally physically super strong, how does that influence his training as a jedi? Have a race with a prehensile tail, or enhanced speed. A Spider-man like Jedi that can stick to walls. A Jedi that needs artificial gills filled with water to live on land.
I don't understand these PROFESSIONAL writers. How is this something they're satisfied with?
I'm not deep into lore like Ryan or Star Wars Theory, but like... If I had the ability to create whole cloth whatever I want, that opens up so many possibilities. And they go with [bleeping] WITCHES. And not even the cool ones!

@Drinker, olive oil was a major staple commodity in Ancient Rome. An oil baron isn't a Texan. Think wine, salt, grain, oil, fish sauce (yes really), salted fish as big trade goods that kept the empire running.

The Whole plot of the show disappears if in the first episode, when Mae approaches trinity, trinity just misidentifies her through her coof mask disguise and says "Osha?"

I saw a thumbnail for this video that was apparently supposed to “debunk” Drinker’s season four video of The Boys, and apparently a lot of people were agreeing with this dude, but then they started to turn on him when he made a video about defending what Erik Kripke said about what happened to Hughie.
Kripke is so despicable he manages to turn even the Boys s4-Stans against him. An incredible effort

In her interview with Rachel Leishman, Leslye Headland said this episode was supposed tp make the audience sympathize with the Jedi by showing how, from their perspective, their actions really did seem justified. Leslye clearly doesn't know how to make a character sympathetic/likable nor how to make choices seem justifiable/rational. I think maybe her own "moral ambiguity" makes her unable to recognize how decidedly bad some things can look to people who do have distinct moral values.

It's called a shoulder block in Escrima. Your blade rests on your shoulder/tricep to take the blunt of the force of the blow. On the show he had his light saber resting on the corner of the wall. Being light sabers can cut through walls that point made no sense.
1:30:31 ironically in lego freemaker (a non-canon lego star wars spinoff) an imperial droid travels to the deathstar-II's power core to prevent its destruction forcing the freemaker family to intervene in the battle of endor to ensure the rebels can actually blow up the core. The freemaker's almost lose the resulting duel at the deathstar-II's power core but the droid is distracted and loses the duel when he notices that his master Palpatine is falling to his death. This causes him to be defeated and the deathstar-II's power core to be exposed enabling things to happen as they do in the movie. It's doubtful that the actor was referring to lego freemaker but technically speaking if Anakin didn't throw Palpatine to his death than the deathstar-II would not have been blown up.
I never wanted Gladiator 2, but now I know Pedro Pascal is in it, I want it even less.

If this was a search across the country maybe, but a galaxy? Especially a galaxy of trillions of people over millions of worlds, with murders happening thousands of lightyears away being reported and Osha being captured a day or two after? Even with the shortness of trips (which shouldn't happen since all of Star Wars proved that couldn't happen, in both the movies and the Clone Wars tv show that is canon thanks to Feloni) there's still be a long time for everything to happen.

To the guy who asked the question about creating his own channel. The ones that always appeal and I routinly check out the latest are by creators who are authentic and sincere. Do that and you'll find a following. "To thine ownself be true", do what you and do it best of your abilties and the rest follows (and get a good mic as some channels have really awful acoustics which are jarring and off putting)

I did hear they used that to replicate the sea battles from the first Punic War. Whether it's true or not, it wouldn't be too bad to put it in a film because at least there's a possibility of it being true. Though how they would do it would be fascinating to see.
