ِA dangerous journey | Al-Mutanabbi

- This poem describes the journey of Al-Mutanabbi from Egypt to Iraq escaping the house arrest imposed on him by the Sultan of Egypt [Kafur].
Original track by Osama Al-Wa'ez:
• القصيدة المقصورة للمتن...
Bro escaped the king and wrote a sick poem to mock him for being too slow to catch him 😂
Reminds me of Selenca
It's what we call in today's terms, a dis 😂
There's an entire poem for that, this tiny bit is nothing, it mostly explains the road he took and praises his camel. There's another one he wrote right after he left, and sent it back with someone to deliver it to the king. It was too rude and vulgar, and even if it got really famous, some scholar choose not to say it publicly because of its meanings. 😂
@@nawara9056can you provide the source for it? And can you tell me the story and why he escaped?
@@Yehyya sure!
So, Almutanabi is the poet of these lines( in the video). He was born around the 10th century, and was the linguistic genius of his times. A highly renowned poet for his powerful poems. He was good, and he knew that. Some stories say he started making poetry at the age of 9.
He was ambitious, and it was evident in his poems. His most widely spread verses is likely to be " the horse, the night, and the battle field knows me,
And the sword, the spear, the paper, and the pen."
I am the one who the blind read his works,
and my words were heard by the deaf.
I sleep with full-filled eyes from its rareties,
And the people stay up their nights to attend to it, and dispute over it.
(Of course, it sounds way better in Arabic, it just doesn't work with translation.)
*****
Anyway, he used to flatter kings and praise them to earn their favor and money and status.
To Arabs, status and reputation were important. Gold runs out, and beauty fades, but a good reputation stays. Poetry was also popular because its a rich language with profound meanings. A poet was considered a good career. It was powerful. A good poet's words will have the ability to raise the reputation of tribes and kingdoms, or destroy them. So they were to be feared and respected.
Almutanabi grew close to Saif Addawlah ( sword of the state) Alhamadani, and wrote beautiful poetry for him. However, an issue happened, and Almutanabi left, leaving behind verses of ridicule.
He was then invited by Kafoor Aliqshidi.
(To be continued)

Most of Arabic speakers couldn't fully understand this poem tho
Its waaaay better in Arabic! There are some beautiful meanings that got lost in translation, like it didn't even catch 30% of the poem's beauty!
It took me some time to memorize it in Arabic, but I didn't understand half of it( it was that rich in language), the translation helped me understand it better. Thanks😊

The Prophet (ﷺ) has commanded to grow the beard and to shorten the moustaches.
In another authentic narration (Hasan) in the book "Al-Bidayah Wan-Nihayah" of Imām ibn Kathīr, the Prophet (ﷺ) said that Allāh has Commanded to grow the beard and to shorten the moustache.
The correct opinion is to cut what comes below the handful of one's fist. This was related by ibn 'Umar, ibn 'Abbās and as well as from Abū Hurayrah. A major Tabi' also narrated that the companions would cut what came below the handful.
The aforementioned is the opinion of Sheikh Al-Albānī and one can relate to him for evidences.

The Prophet (ﷺ) forbade to fold clothes while praying in an authentic narration in Sunan ibn Mājah - therefore do not fold your sleeves and pray. If there is a necessity to fold the lower garment for not having them lowering to the ankles, then there is no problem.

The poet first tells how he isn't interested in women . Then he tells how he traveled from egypt to iraq with his camel. He tells how his camel passed through different valleys, how he killed burglars in the way. And in the last, he mocks the sultan of egypt. The poet used to live in egypt and discriminate the sultan because of his corruption. The sultan sent forces for him but he escaped in time. You're welcome

I just read now that al-'Awasim (strongholds) served as a deeper second line of defense after Thughur at the beginning.
Since 10th century CE, both names have been used interchangeably. So, al-'Awasim has been used for the whole area including what I mentioned and what you mentioned.
So technically we are both right 🤷♂
