Documentary-interview. Patrizia Gioia,The ancient art of Buon Fresco

In this video I tell the story of the birth of my passion for this fascinating pictorial technique and how it has become a real mission to keep this ancient tradition alive. This interview is part of documentary film about the ancient technique of fresco co produced with Lorenzo Vella director and film maker.
Thanks to the meeting with Lorenzo Vella, I realized an old project that I was thinking about for long time.
We have decided to create something unique that tells this noble art in an unusual and engaging way. This is not a tutorial but a real film that tells the whole and long work of a mural fresco.
The documentary is structured in two films. The first is set in the Middle Ages in 1350; while a narrating voice explains the technique, I paint a fresco according to the technique of buon fresco in medieval setting.
The second is an interview in which I tell my experience of studying the fresco technique, set in my studio, with the images of my frescoes.
The documentary brings together past and present through the two films of which it consists. The first shows images of the entire fresco realization on a stone wall, set in the second half of the fourteenth century and the second shows the images of a fresco laboratory of our days where you can discover the secrets of the workshop.
