The problem with all these "talent" shows is that the contestants are judged on things that have nothing to do with talent -- looks, personality, having a "compelling background story" etc.

Bravo! Harry keeps it fun -- I can only imagine the nerves in such a situation. He has a nice tone, good pitch, could use some coaching on breath support for the higher register of the song, but he's a nice package. His delivery of the words fell behind a couple of times, but that could just be nerves. He has good moves and showed the judges he is confident and amiable -- that's important for something like development of a stage show.
His muscles are bigger than his voice....

Okay his singing ain't so good - he's straining and shouting instead of supporting and using proper tecnique but i think with some vocal training, he can do well.

i'm not a pilot, but if i see a plane or helicopter crashed in a field then i know the pilot fucked up. You don't need to be a singer or have received musical training to know he's trying too hard and it sounds terrible.

If you want lip syncing and for purely shallow 'guns' stuff to fill the seats from hormonal audience who doesn't really care about actual singing, then maybe choose him. Sorry for being so harsh. He needs to up his vocal ability pronto otherwise I can't see him actually singing on stage eight times a week...
In the 'battle' round, he dropped out mid-rehearsal. At least he realised he's out of his depth in this competition...

Just saw his performance in CALL THE MIDWIFE (Season 9, Ep 2) and he is really fantastic. Googled "Harry Neale" and it brought me here. I remember him. I think his singing is good, but this song goes out of his range.

Ok voice, but I think the music industry is all about looks, which is why I think someone like me who doesn't look great, but has an amazing voice wouldn't succeed. If Harry and I did a body swap, me in Harry's body would fly through, whilst Harry in mine wouldn't.

This is obviously cute and funny and all... But if the judges and audience had done the same thing to a female contestant, the SJWs and #MeTooers would have absolutely lost their shit.
