  • Have you ever had to suppress parts of yourself in order to maintain a professional identity? For many parents, it's their parenthood. In this emotional talk, Amanda Munday, mother and small business owner, highlights the solutions created by having accessible childcare and how all of us, including those who don't have kids, can benefit from it. As the founder of Toronto’s first co-working facility with childcare, Amanda is on a mission to create better opportunities for working parents. She is the author of Day Nine: A Postpartum Depression Memoir, and is an advocate for women’s rights and community leader. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

You have a fantastic way with words! The struggles you share have been age old issues for mothers and families for so long, I am happy to hear such a strong advocate on the matter! I have often thought about work spaces that would benefit from onsite childcare and the many different ways it can be done to relieve the pressure on so many and even bring job opportunities for those that would not have had them before because of the full time roll of parenting vs passionate working goals. I hope more people catch on to this considering how prevalent the need is!
My college class is doing presentations on some of the leading change makers of our time and I wanted you to know that you were on our list to choose from! I am very excited to learn about this fantastic thing you are doing with WorkAround :)
From a college student who is also a mother of 2 boys and is feeling the struggle- Thank you for all that you're doing to help the world be a better place in so many ways!

What a freak idea to make me responsible for your children...... you choose to have them, take care of them., leave my paycheck alone, assume your mistakes. And worst, make me feel bad for not thinking your way.... if you cant move forward in your life because of YOUR choice ( your kid) dont slow me down in my life with YOUR 2 leggeg problem.
    Assume your responsability

Okay with this same mindset if something happens to you at work like you lose your leg I hope you get no help and end up homeless and wither away on the streets since we also aren't responsible for your mistakes and you should just be more careful 👍
