    So good to know your daughter was "struggling" with the enjoyment last year. We are doing k this year and my daughter is in that same boat but I LOVE this program for English and I'm hopeful now she will start to enjoy it more once her reading advances

      I'm glad you found comfort in that. It really was a struggle so hang in there! I bet as soon as it "clicks" for your daughter, it will get so much easier for her!!

    Thank you for the video! We are also in LA 1 and she loves it however she is not “loving” to read yet. I pray that it changes by the time we’re done with level one. I think once she finds her confidence she will enjoy reading more so thank you for sharing your story.

      Yes! I think confidence is a huge part of it. I definitely felt worried that my daughter wasn't going to enjoy reading but she loves it now! Hang in there

    Thanks for this! I had to put our level K off to the side for a bit to really solidify blending for my Kindergartener. I’m excited to come back to it when she’s more confident and it’s not so much work to read like you mentioned. Love so much of the Good and the Beautiful!

      You're welcome! I'm so glad you could recognize when you needed to put it to the side and focus on something different - ahh the beauty of homeschooling! Are you using a curriculum to help your daughter with blending?

      Raising Nobles I’m using Phonics Pathways and it’s helped sooo much. She knew all her letters and sounds, but Phonics Pathways has helped her speed and accuracy 100% with fun games and gentle practice. You can get a copy from the library to try it out first, then I got a used copy on eBay for 10$. It’s not the most organized book, a little haphazard, but nothing a highlighter and a quick read before beginning won’t fix. We’re pairing it with BOB books as her readers, along with lots of read alouds, and it’s been perfect for her. Excited to try TGTB again soon!

    I'm so excited about using TGATB Language Arts. I also love how it combines so much into one curriculum. I'm hoping my "soon to be" 1st grader will transition easily into it with no gaps. The curriculum we are using now for reading states the child reading at a 1st grade level when completed. I think we are really going to love TGATB! Thank you for sharing these videos!

    This our first year doing tgatb and we LOVE it! We are in the same level and I couldn't imagine doing anything different.

    We flew through Level K. 6 months. We took 12 months for Level 1. Kid HATED it. But I went slow because I felt I couldn't see anything else that would be worth switching to. We have been in Level 2 since September. Still short lessons. But now my kid LOVES it. We use the older edition. So interesting to see the reaction your daughter had. Thanks for sharing!

      Hi Amy! I love how we are able to slow down or speed up depending on the needs of our children. One of the many perks of homeschooling! That's so interesting how your child hated it and then ended up loving it after being given some time. I agree with you, I don't see any curriculum that I would like to switch to. I'm curious about masterbooks lanugage arts, but I don't think I'm ready to take that leap yet.

    Thanks for the update! We started homeschooling our oldest this year with level 6 and just love it. We will be homeschooling our second grader next year as well and I'm very curious how she will like it.

      You're welcome! That's so exciting being in your first year of homeschool - I hope the rest of this year goes well and the transition for your second grader is seamless next year!!

    Thanks for the update, this was so helpful! How long do you spend on language arts, on average, each day? Is it 5 days a week?

    • @RaisingNobles
      @RaisingNobles  4 роки тому +3

      You’re welcome! We do 4 days a week and one lesson takes us about 20 minutes, not including the 20 minute personal reading time ☺️

    Do u know if the beginner bob books go with the level k?

    • @RaisingNobles
      @RaisingNobles  4 роки тому

      They aren’t an exact match of course, but I think the bob books go with just about anything as just extra reading practice. We use the bob books in our homeschool.
