    N3 came in 2009. In 2016 (7 years) N3X came. Now its 2023 (7 years). Will it be a new «N3X II» in near future?

    • @RivertonPianoCompany
      @RivertonPianoCompany  Рік тому +1

      I think it's very unlikely. There will be a new N3 someday, but I doubt it will happen in the near future. Remember, the N3X wasn't a major design change from the N3. They added Bluetooth, updated the power button, tweaked a few things... but otherwise left the piano as it was. We haven't heard anything from Yamaha about a new N3, but - even if one was in the works - I suspect it will be a minimal update like last time. There's no reason for a major redesign. Also, the chip shortage continues to be a problem for Yamaha so I don't see them doing much redesigning until they can get the chips they need in the quantities they need. We'll see, though.

      We'd love to see that update as well, but we currently do not have any information about new hybrid models.

    Which one is better yamaha clavinova CLP 795 or this one??

    • @RivertonPianoCompany

      Hi, Arijit! That's a tough question because it really depends on what you are looking for. The N3X actually uses an acoustic piano action and it has a 12 speaker sound system (vs. the 795's nine). They both use a similar set of piano sounds, but the 795GP has hundreds of sounds where the N3X only has 10. The N3X has a beautiful, contemporary cabinet with casters. The 795GP is more traditional looking, but still beautiful (no casters). The 795GP has Bluetooth MIDI and AUDIO built-in. The N3X requires the MD-BT01 for Bluetooth MIDI and it doesn't have Bluetooth AUDIO. The N3X, however, has Yamaha's TRS (Tactile Response System) and none of the Clavinovas have that. ...and - of course - the N3X is significantly more expensive than the 795GP. If you are looking for digital piano features, you'll prefer the 795GP, but if you're looking for an acoustic piano experience with a hint of technology and a contemporary look, you'll prefer the N3X. I know it's not a simple answer, but I hope that helps!

      @@RivertonPianoCompany ok great that's a satisfying answer just tell me one thing will i get same tonal quality in both the pianos?? And if possible give me a comparison between roland gp609 and yamaha clp 795 I am confused between these two because I wanna buy.

      I would say the N3X sounds better than the CLP-795 when you are comparing the piano sounds. This is simply because the N3X has a massive 12-speaker sound system (vs. the 795's nine). The Roland GP-609 uses a completely different technology to get their piano sound. They are fully modeled (ie - not based on a piano sample). You'll have to compare the sound of the N3X and the GP-609 to see which you like best. They are complete different and really hard to explain. However, if you'd like to hear a 609, check out this video: ua-cam.com/video/npCTd84LsCY/v-deo.html Thanks for watching!

      @@RivertonPianoCompany Hello, I just wanted to clarify that the CLP-795GP has 8 speakers: (16 cm + 8 cm + 2.5 cm (dome) + transducer) x 2. In addition to the pair of 16 cm woofers, the pair of mid-range 8 cm speakers, and the pair of tweeters, the CLP-795GP features 2 transducers "to achieve the full reverberation of sounds emitted by the entire grand piano soundboard, replicating the sense of depth experienced when playing an acoustic grand piano" (quoting Yamaha).

      Thank you! That is correct. I mistyped. The CLP-795GP has 8 speakers - not nine.

    What's the cost of a basic regulation/check up after say 5 years? I'm thinking of buying the N2 but just not sure. Great video!

    • @RivertonPianoCompany
      @RivertonPianoCompany  2 роки тому +2

      Thank you for watching! Typically, technicians charge by the hour for a regulation/checkup. If the piano isn't in bad shape, it can take a couple of hours. If it's been 20 years since it's last regulation (or if you want a "concert regulation" - which includes a bunch of extra adjustments), it can go up to 8 hours. My guess is that a standard 5yr regulation on a hybrid piano that is kept in a climate controlled environment and played normally would only need a couple of hours work. $200-$300 maybe?

    Can the key action be adjusted to mimic the feel of a concert grand?

    • @RivertonPianoCompany
      @RivertonPianoCompany  Рік тому +1

      The key action is a Yamaha C-Series grand piano key action... The major difference is the hammers have been replaced with counterweights (because there are no strings to strike, etc.). We cover this in the video. It *is* a grand piano action and a concert grand piano sound... I am not sure what other adjustments one could make. The N3X is the AvantGrand "concert grand" model. I hope that helps!

      @@RivertonPianoCompany Apologies, my question was a bit vague.
      I was curious as to whether the actions on a grand piano and a concert grand felt different, and if the ones on this hybrid piano were adjustable to mimic the feel of the latter. Was looking to potentially purchase one for myself is all and wanted the most authentic playing experience. I've never really done a side-by-side comparison between the two.
      Thank you for your first response.

    • @RivertonPianoCompany
      @RivertonPianoCompany  Рік тому +1

      Got it! I don't think there's a big enough difference in key actions between a concert grand and a good grand piano (say a 7', etc.) for most players to notice anything. Unless you're a professional concert pianist, I think you'll find the N3X to be a very satisfying grand piano experience. Of course, I'd recommend trying one out first, but I think you'll be impressed! They are fun to play!
