  • What's it like to try the latest non-surgical facelift using quite a lot of facial filler? Let me tell you, and show you the huge difference it has made to my face.
    Dr Tapan Patel of the Phi Clinic in London uses 10ml of Juvederm fillers (Voluma and Volite) to strengthen my jawline and chin and improve my cheeks, temples and lips.
    Phi Clinic: www.phiclinic.com
    This much filler costs £3,995.
    I have written about this in detail on my blog at www.alicehartda... and also in The Times - link for subscribers: www.thetimes.c...
    This is mostly me talking to camera - and Dr Patel explaining what he is going to do.
    I've put in a warning before we get to the bit involving needles...

      thank you! it shows you don't have to end up looking distorted with this sort of work

    You look natural but fresher. I was particularly interested in the jaw defining, as I want to lose my pouch too.

    Hi Alice, thank you for being so honest, you look great! I am around your age and have only had small amounts here or there, I agree a lot spread out gives a softer, more youthful appearance. How long will it last? This would be expensive if you have to spend this amount yearly

    • @thetweakmentsguide

      Hi Karen it will last up to 18 months - I've just done pictures to see what is lasting where, and the jawline and chin are holding up well tho the centre of the face is dropping down again. And yes, it's not a cheap area to get into, this tweakments arena

    Hello Alice-I wonder whether you have an update on how this procedure is holding up over time ? It was rather expensive and would be nice to know how worthwhile it was. Thanks.

      wjs 57 hi, yes I’m booked in to have pictures done on a couple of weeks to compare/ contrast and see how it’s holding up. I think there is still some in my chin and cheeks but the jawline and temples are back to normal. We’ll see. I’ll post afterwards

      That is helpful. I can’t imagine having quite as much as you did in one go (not just the cost) but it would be a useful exercise.

      Agree. Her chin is bulky now. Chin is larger distradting away from her lips. I would have done more to fill in mid-face vs her upper cheeks/ Zygomatic Arch/Zygoma area. don't want to make her face look too long.

      @@calliedunne4775 exactly and thats what ended up happening to her, her face looks mote elongate and more masculine and I don't think he gave a refreshed baby face .. like filling under her eyw hollows and somwthinf to lift eye corners

    Interesting vid. I love the filler I've had in my lips, but it's not cheap. I wonder if it's better to save for a lower face lift than get lots of filler? mind you, you can't add lost volume with a face lift. difficult to know which would give a better result?

    • @thetweakmentsguide
      @thetweakmentsguide  6 років тому +3

      Exactly, a facelift of any sort will not add volume, it will just tighten up the skin. And as the brilliant surgeon Rajiv Grover often points out in his talks, that means a facelift tends to make an older face go from looking like a saggy prune (ie wrinkly and deflated) to looking like a smoother tighter prune -- when what you want is for it to look like a nice full ripe plum ie smoother but also with restored volume. The docs who do all the best non-surgical filler work tend to agree that if you keep gently adjusting and revolumising the face where appropriate with fillers, you can put off the need for a facelift for a good decade, depending on what your face is like to start with and how much work you have done. My plan is to stick with filler for the time being. You need a certain amount of loose skin in order to make a face lift worthwhile.

    • @sphinx1017
      @sphinx1017 6 років тому

      Thanks, interesting to know filler in the right places can actually lift some of the sagging, not just fill in the crevice or fold. I didn't realise it could be used like that.

    How long does the filler last? I am wanting to get a full filler facelift done but I just want to see how long it lasts and how much it normally cost. I understand pricing is probably different being I am in America and you’re in the UK, so you probably can’t answer that question for me. But how long does it last?

  • @cristinarisso8668
    @cristinarisso8668 6 років тому

    Results are simply AMAZING, but .. i wonder.... isn't such an amount of fillers going to bring "down" the face even more on long terms? (the famous unfriendly effect of gravity so to speak ;). Did he address that at all? ) . Also, this is probably going to last barely a year :(, meaning 4000 pounds a year.. every year

    • @thetweakmentsguide
      @thetweakmentsguide  6 років тому +2

      hi - yes it is expensive, and I'm waiting to see how long it will last. Not quite sure what you mean about bringing 'down' the face in the long term? It is holding it up for now, and because the skin becomes stronger (better hydrated, with more collagen) above the areas where HA fillers are injected, I don't see that it will be more likely to be affected by gravity? I expect that as the filler is broken down by the body, i will just go back to looking like I did before, albeit a little older!

    • @cristinarisso8668
      @cristinarisso8668 6 років тому

      You are probably right :) (when one does not repeat it, one will just look the same or a little older ) : please keep us updated anyway. What i meant is that I would be scared that the weight of the fillers in the lower part of the face will bring the jowls even more ... down. My jowls are already a one piece with my neck :((( ;)

    • @thetweakmentsguide
      @thetweakmentsguide  6 років тому +3

      oh i see what you mean! it's only 1ml on each point of the jaw and 3ml in the chin, and after a month or two it has integrated with the skin tissues so it's not sitting there like a tiny weight. But good point re updates, I should persuade Dr P to fit me in for six-months-on photos in same lighting conditions...

    Hi Alice, perhaps you could please explain why you wanted the fillers post your recent Ultherapy treatment ( I watched that video)? I am confused on how the treatments work together. Many thx!

    • @thetweakmentsguide
      @thetweakmentsguide  6 років тому +2

      Hi Rosie, the treatments do very different things. What the Ultherapy treatment does is tighten and lift the skin, by working on the muscular layer within the skin. It is only working on the skin itself. So it has a tightening and lifting effect on the face, you can think of it a little like shrink-wrapping. What the fillers do is work beneath the skin, and add back the volume that drops away from the face as it gets older (I'm 54, so I have fat loss in the mid face as well as a bit of bone loss around the mouth and temples, which just happens with age). So what Dr Patel used the fillers to do was to replace some of this lost volume in my cheeks and mid-face, and my temples, then he used filler in my chin and on my jawline to add a bit of structure to my jaw. So all this work with fillers is a bit like rebuilding the framework of the face from the inside. In my lips, he used a very liquid sort of filler to make them look softer and more hydrated (rather than using a firmer type of filler which would add volume, because my lips dont need much volume but they did look very dry beforehand). Hope that makes sense, Alice

      Hi yes it’s brilliant. Quick and easy, and I found the results kicked in after about five weeks - the protocol is to have two treatments a month apart, and they say you should see results a month after the second treatment, but I found it was much quicker. I will try to do a video on it soon.

      I do agree with you. I don't want to be mean or ungracious when someone is so helpful and open about their treatments. However, she looked happy and very attractive before....still very attractive after but not quite as lovely. She doesn't look younger in my opinion...just more "worked".
