@@justinward3218 that what they always say, a bit of spaghetti is fine, weaving aline won't hurt anyone, the next thing you remember is that you have spend the last couple of hours figuring by yourself how to weave the four colours of belts to stack even more railgungs than anyone else... and then youtube recommends you a video about that....
On the Factorio discord there was some suggestion by TRUPEN of all ppl, that belt weaving was "fixed" by the devs and no longer works, or I misunderstood his polish to english translation as I was researching this idea and trying to understand the inscrutable... e.g., imagine wearing a Christmas sweater weaved like this? It would be so heavy from cookies, we wouldn't be able to move! I'm glad to see it still works. It's like quantum mechanics, no one knows why it should work, it just does (!)
Belt weaving will never be removed, if it was going to be removed it would of been done in 2.0 Its been there for over a decade now and its useful in some extreme circumstances. But also comes with some drawbacks mainly belt speed!

This is like loading up an 18 wheeler filled with Micro SD cards and driving it across the country. The bandwidth is insane, but the delay is .. .. like the video to see the completion of this metaphor. You saw the video you came to the comments, why haven't you liked the video?!?! Engagement. My Angry Flying Brick is going to be retired. The factory must grow. The FLEET must grow.
I do get why people did the promethium belt storage because it basically short circuited the intent of the devs (e.g. take the eggs to space and craft on the spot). The method basically takes out any sense of "urgency".
Meh, solving problems by combining simple elements in complicated ways is what factorio is all about. In the early days people were also upset about people surrounding two or three chemical plants with a dozen beacons because it was "not what the devs intended", but eventually it became a fully accepted part of efficient design. What the devs intended is not all that important anyway, as long as the players have fun. Some players just like playing slow and big and don't enjoy the racing element of taking eggs into space.
less than 3 weeks from 2.0 release the Science pack spoiled, and didn't require biter eggs at all. From memory they had 6H 6M and 6S of spoil time, now moving that to biter eggs, with a spoil time of 30min means within the spoil time which is generally less than 30min you need to fly from Nauvis to the edge which is 145,000km, then have some time flying out to the shattered planet, process everything you have grabbed turn it into science and then travel back. If you have a ship that travels 160km/s thats possible, but also means you HAVE to play with Quality to get a ship beefy enough to fly towards the Shattered planet and to fly at that speed. So are you also telling me that the Devs intended everyone to play with Quality as well? Or did they make it optional part of the game? Also why the change to what spoils so close to release? Oh and I should mention before that the Asteroids spoiled instead of the science pack. I was part of the pre-release, the Shattered planet was added so late into the game that I don't even think the devs were sure of what they intended the method to be.

@ I limit my railgun stack height to 3 on my main bus
so, the ammo that the assembler makes is an icon of a magazine. The magazine (not a clip- those are different) contains 10 rounds of ammo (bullets).

I doubt Wube would "fix" belt weaving. If they wanted to, they should/could have done so 10 years ago.
