  • Kathy Moseler, a.k.a. "The Robot Lady" who is President of Paradise Robotics - a Midwest USA Distributor of Ambrogio robot mowers, narrates the new installation of an Ambrogio 4.0 Elite robot on a typical US suburban property.
The backyard is fenced with gates on two sides. This eliminated the need to cut one or two holes in the fence. The two side yards are very narrow and there is grass beyond the sidewalk that borders the street.
This video is the overview of the whole installation. Other videos might be posted later that demonstrate some of the details.
Ambrogio robots can also be used on properties that only have one gate, but in those cases, the robot must cross the driveway, which is not ideal. Also, it is possible to put only one wire down the center of the gate rather than two wires with some programming tricks. These details are covered in Kathy's book that is available on Amazon for purchase: "Ambrogio Robot Professional Installation Guide". Purchase the 3rd edition here: www.amazon.com...

Do you have to set return to base “on the wire” for the 12 inch spacing through gates to work? For viewers who do not have experience of these mowers you can set the return instruction as centred on the wire or at various distance up to 1m inside the perimeter wire. Thanks for sharing this video.

Hi Roger, thank you for your important question. The solution is to install an "antenna", a special shape in the wire, that recalls the robot to the wire on each side of the gate (i.e. 2 antennas). The robot will drive on top of the wire through the gate. The wire can be centered in the gate opening **if** special programming is used to ensure the robot only travels on the same wire through the gate. That is, anti/counter-clockwise or clockwise. Using this technique, the very small Ambrogio robots (L15 and Twenty) can fit through an opening as small as 16"/40cm. Most models need 28"/70cm, though (4.0, L250i, L350i, more...). Yet all of these robots will vary the distance from the wire in all other locations in the yard. The distance the robot stays on the wire is programmable by your dealer in the service menu. The default is something like 30ft/10m.

@@paradisebots Aloha. What mower would you recommend for cutting El Toro Zoysia grass on a 6900 Sq foot lot? I have a gravel walkway and fence separating the front yard from back yard. I would have to carry the robot between the two. Mahalo!
