Umuahia may not have the kind of structure that Owerri has but i'll rate it higher just based on the good roads and cleanliness. Owerri just needs same to compete with Enugu as the best city in Igboland. I wonder when the Abia state government will extend the same gesture to Aba.

I was in Umuahia in 2006, as a state capital of an oil state it looks just like any other place in Nigeria, in fact Ebonyi state appears to be the most developed out of the southeastern states, albeit without oil revenues. What are Abia state doing with its oil resources, it is certainly not in human capital or infrastructural development. The only evidence of Abia state oil wealth in the pockets of all ex-politicians who come and shout one indivisible Nigeria whilst they are lining their pockets with our commonwealth, they give their poor followers religion with a promise to go to heaven. Also, show us the Government college Umuahia, which produced many prominent figures in Nigeria. It's good that you showed us shoprite and library avenue which has a concentration of the commercial banks.

A state capital without a single flyover, no government house, no standing stadium, the roads are too small, no urban beautiful. Abia state government should develop the entire State as this doesn't represent the state well
Owerri is a glorified state capital. Imo state government should as a matter of urgency create a new capital for Imo state because what we have now is a dumpsite of planlessness, bad roads, refuse dumps everywhere. At times I used to wonder if our governors do visit other states. Owerri has proved back to back that it is the worst state capital not just in igbo land but entire south.
PEDESTRIANS also have a right of way, and deserve SIDEWALKS on all streets, not just the odd major road, plus covered drains, not open gutters in this day and age for goodness' sake. It is very unfair to build asphalt roads for cars while pedestrians have to walk along the sand near open gutters with the possibility of getting hit by cars. Are pedestrians not taxpayers too? Why is infrastructure spending not targeting them, but just car drivers? Very unfair. Even worse is the people who come in here praising this substandard nonsense. No wonder the leaders won't do the right thing. The people themselves know no better, and are happy with the mediocre infrastructure. Disgraceful.
