I think that was a bit too much oil. If ever you see the engine smoking, thats gonna be too much oil. It didn't smoke in the video because its the first time running and all the engine is brand new. Otherwise great video.

Actually, that kind of generator takes the whole bottle that it came with 1.06 qt.

I have that same generator. It took the whole bottle. Surprised me as well!

There wasn’t one that came with it, but there might be that’s a great question

What type of oil did you put into your generator? We just picked a Generac also. It had oil with the generator but it was not the proper type for our climate. It calls for synthetic blend 5w30. We had to call to find out because the instructions mention operating condition and type of oil to use in different temperature conditions. Just thought I'd mention it to you.

@@outdoorswithaaron4145 Yes definitely check the oil you put in. We received SAE 30 which can be used but not under 40 degrees!! We all know it gets colder than that in Maine!!! So we called up and was told to use Mobil 1 Advanced Full Synthetic 5w-30 for conditions up to -30 degrees.
First start on ours and purred like a beauty!! Can't beat a Generac with 3yr warranty likewise.

A little late commenting, but the 30 weight that comes with it is break in oil. After 30 hours break-in you should change oil to 5-30 full synthetic.. this information is in the owners manual.

@@garystarr9176no need to use full synthetic oils for that purpose. The old Dino multigrade oil will do the thing perfectly, It doesn't cost that much and I would prefer frequent oil change because small engines don't have oil filters

@@j420v7no need to use synthetic oils. I prefer HD mineral diesel oils for my 3kw genset. my 3kw genset requires an oil that's API SE or higher. So I use 15w40 and SAE 40 Heavy duty diesel motor oil And these are the oils that I frequently use
      Castrol CRB 15W40
      Shell Rimula R4X 15W40
      Shell Rimula R2 SAE 40
