    I just wanted to say thank you for all your uploads. I am relatively new to Volleyball and I would like to be the setter of my recreational team. Your videos have been a big help and I am improving daily from them. Little thinga like footwork and avoiding bad habits make all the difference. Really appreciate your work!

    Hi coach, can you make a video on how to be the best left handed setter? Thank you for all of your videos.

      Left hand setter should set as right handed😉 but you can attack with your left hand more, no need to dump the ball👍

    Very clear, i struggle with out side setting. Middle and back wards are no problem and I play first division. Its got to do something with the hand position where as i cant get enough strength out side and sometimes dont have them at equal hight. Maybe you can teach me how to get strength in your out side setting as where i can set backwards around the whole court

    With the whole "having your right foot forward thing" makes sense for forward sets. But what about back sets? surely that's the opposite of having your left foot forward? If your right is forward but you set back, the back of your body is facing the opponents court slightly.

    • @VolleyCountrycom
      @VolleyCountrycom  9 місяців тому

      You should keep your right foot in front even for back sets, the best setters do that😀 and you do not want to change feet also to show your opponent where you will set😉👍

    • @VBMichael_D
      @VBMichael_D 3 місяці тому

      Yes but learn how to set accurately and consistently with your feet on the ground first.
      A faster tempo is nice with jump setting but isn't effective when sets aren't where they should be.

  • @VBMichael_D
    @VBMichael_D 3 місяці тому

    The first section of the video, agreed 100% on the footwork, BUT you left out the fact that the setter should ALWAYS be facing the 1 zone. Zone 1 is the left side of the front row court from the antenna extending 1 meter to the right for you Gen Z folks that refuse to learn the two digit set mnemonics. There are 9 zones going from left to right. Setter's home is usually in the 6 zone.
    If the 1 zone is the center of the circle, there is a radius from it to you, who is on the edge of that circle, and the setter will radius out to the pass whilst still facing the 1 zone; right foot will still be in front of the left foot as you have mentioned.

      @@VolleyCountrycom How can you see the opposing team's middle blocker and where he/she is, if your back is to the net?

  • @VBMichael_D
    @VBMichael_D 3 місяці тому +2

    This is for the 3d-chess setters, another mistake is not ensuring you are aware as much as you can be, of the location of the opposing team's middle blocker. If they move one way before you touch the pass, you set it the opposite way they cheat.

    Tonguç abi bizim okulda biri Defne diye biri adına "ben Cem den hoşlanıyorum..." Gerisi ayıp bir şey ben de tam bilmiyorum. Arkadaşımın sırasına sadece Nehir okusun diye yazıp bırakmış. Sonra bütün sınıf bunu öğrendi. Bu olayın benzeri geçen sene de olmuştu. Hocaya da söylemişler olayı. Hoca o kişinin okuldan atılması için elinden geleni yapacakmış. Bizim Türkçe yazılılarımıza bakarak kimin yaptığını bulacakmış. Ben otenefüs ful Defne denen kızlaydım. O kişi kimse Allah kurtarsın.

    This is quite different from what I've been taught, I understand that you are trying to teach the basics here but I think you didn't go in depth enough for the footwork or where you should be facing. Very basic with some bad habits which can creep into this.

      Of course in one 10min video you can not put all in details😉
