- Here's a travel tip for you ... Be sure you LOCK UP your RV trailer coupler if you want to make your camper much harder to steal. On today's Tips for Trips, I will share a review of the Proven Industries, model 2516 Trailer Lock. It's not cheap, but this trailer coupler lock is one of THE BEST I've seen. Watch the Lock picking lawyer defeat that puck lock in 30 seconds. He drills a hole and pops it off in less than one minute.
They use the safety chains to steal the trailers.
I’m not sure if you figured it out yet, but your safety chains hook on either side of the dummy ball. It keeps the whole lock from flopping around and also locks the chains so somebody can’t drag it out with the chains, no need for a separate lock. I twisted my chains up tight hook them on either side of the dummy ball.

Proven industries is what we have on our cargo. Tongue and on ramp door. They're a tad pricy, but I feel much better about leaving the trailer some place with those locks on. Yes they can just hook up the chains and go. Jessie wraps our chains inside the lock itself. We think they're nice locks and haven't been disappointed with them yet. Had them on our cargo from the beginning. :)
I love my Fort Knox Lock. Very similar, but is made for your chains to fit in the box to be locked up, also. Check them out! Your videos are always great! Thank you! 👍🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
