Yes i want horseback riding once, and never again. Lol got behind a few and in trail could not go anywhere, and the one in front of me,must have a stomach issue. That is all i am saying about that. This place looks amazing and yes i wanted to take a ride on one of them, but we never went to silver spring's,one day i will. Thanks for taking us along
How nice to see what a great job the state has done in preserving this attraction as a state park. I first visited Silver Springs in 1966 and was truly impressed. My wife and I visited the park again just as it was closing and the state was taking it over. I believe that was late 2012 or 2013. I was afraid they might eliminate the glass bottom boat rides and was happy to see it has continued. You should have taken the longer ride to see the monkeys. In 1966 the monkeys would literally attack the boat looking for handouts. Also, they would give you pieces of bread to make into dough balls that you then dropped into the water to feed the catfish. Love your videos.
In the beginning of the video you mentioned that it had a 60-70's feel. I was there in the 60's, heard the same narration on the glass bottom boat tour. Thanks for sharing.
Indeed he is. As someone who has never visited the state this is what I love to see. Let's face it, you can find high-rise apartments, beaches, surfers and amusement parks all around the world - given difference such as language and what's on the menu you'd be surprised at how many places around the world are virtually the same and what good it that? You don't want to be advertising all the stuff you've got that's the same as everyone else's, you want to be showing off the stuff that makes you different and unique. The stuff that makes the people there love the place, not the stuff that makes the most money.
I was there in 1970 on our senior trip after graduation from high school . I am enjoying your videos both travel and metal working, keep up the good work.
years ago I got a chance to snorkel at Rainbow Springs, which isn't too far from where you were. I still remember how incredibly crystal clear the water was.. diving down and swimming underwater felt almost like flying.
You two need to go down to Tarpon Springs. We really enjoyed our time down there. Take a sponge boat tour, it was actually worth it. Our tour had some 60+ year old sponge diver wearing an old school Mark 3 Diving rig (ancient), and brought up a couple sponges for us. People and food were awesome too.
I grew up just down the road from there in Ocala, behind where Six Gun Territory used to be back in the late 70's early 80's. Don't know if the guide told you, but them monkeys came from back when they used to film Tarzan there back in the 60's and 70's. We used to see em' all the time out around our farm.
You need to come to West Virginia and ride the train at Cass Scenic Railroad. It is the third steepest rail line in the world that is not cable or cog driven. It uses Shay gear driven locomotives.
Adam, would a polarization filter on your camera help cut the glare from the water in the same manner that polarized sunglasses do for your eyes? I am honestly curious because I don't have not tried it before. The water that you all have down there in Florida is just incredible. My favorite was going out fishing in the bay near Tarpon Springs and the clear green hue of it and seeing sharks and snook swimming around. managed to catch a few snook until we caught some baby black tips then we moved on.
