This song reminds me of a guy I had a crush on when I was in 7th grade. At a school dance I went to with friends got me to ask him to dance with me. I walked up and asked him. He took my hand and took me to the dance floor. The song...Jesse. We danced close, our arms around each others waists and heads on each other's shoulders. I thought I was in 7th HEAVEN!!! Then they were going to play the last song of the night. From behind me, I felt someone take my hand and start leading me to the dance floor. As I turned around, it was BRIAN! As we walked to the dance floor, Jesse was playing once again. Holding each other close with our heads on each other's shoulders. I didn't want it to end. The next week, I kept looking for him. A friend of mine who family knew Brian's told me, his family moved that weekend and I never saw him again. About 15 years ago, I saw that friend and we were talking about that night back in 1980. I asked my friend if she knew how Brian was doing. She looked down and said Brian took his life a few years earlier. My heart 💔. Now, whenever I hear the song, Jesse, it brings up such bittersweet feelings. Brian, I pray your at peace now.
