Try that though . Chuck a bit of vitalin (nothing added to it other than boiled water) in the edge of your local cut in the evening . Go there the next evening with a decent torch . Shine your torch around the edge where you chucked your vitalin . Walk up and down with your torch shining in the edge 20 ft either side of where you baited too . You ll fined perch near where the bait was and pike further along the edge . Obviously make sure your torch can light up the bottom of your spot on the cut when you shine it in . You dont want the spot to be too deep obviously . I think its the bone marrow in it (if its got it in it that is) but definitely something meaty in it that attracts predators .
