Omg yes! I have loved the idea of tiny homes for environmental and cost reasons. I live in st John's. So glad somewhere in NL is finally catching on. This is perfect for single people, couples, single parents, elderly people etc. Or anyone who also is environmentally conscious.

I agree! I live in st John's. I am 32. I would rather a tiny home as opposed to renting for many reasons. (Enviroment, cost, etc) you would think Newfoundland largest city would be first to jump on this considering it could help so many caught in the government assistance program who do not want to be using it. If there is any developments I am overlooking please let me know!

...don't aim for seniors. Aim for the younger generation. That's who you should be focused on. The reason the younger generation is moving out so quickly is because housing is cheaper outside the province with more jobs available paying higher amounts.
Hell, this should be an option for St. John's, or at least a subsection of Paradise, I know I would sell my 200k home to build a tiny home for a fraction of the cost, as long as I was in charge of the design of the home itself, as I think I could design it to fit my needs very well.

This is going to save stephenville, good to see they're adapting with the time.

It won't save Stephenville. Stephenvilles problems lie deeper than just the home issue. After living out there for a year, the majority of the time, I was bored out of my mind. There are no proper stores to promote population growth, and there's nothing to do there compared to Corner Brook. If they want to save Stephenville, they need to look at the overall problems that are underlying.
A better selection of stores, better hours for the stores they currently have(seriously, why does everything close at 6?), and from personal experience, demolish the hotel Stephenville near the airport. It's old, and needs to be replaced with a smaller hotel that is properly managed, and replace the management at the Dreamcatcher while we are at it. The last time I stayed at both which was about 2 years ago they were both extremely dirty and when I complained to the staff they shrugged their shoulders and said they didn't have a cleaning staff, instead of picking up cleaning supplies and cleaning it themselves.
That said, I'd rather see this idea brought to CBS/Paradise, might actually encourage the population to stay in the province.

Me and my fiancée would be all over this if you could have one built in Cupid’s.
